| I also said if you didn't like it good riddence. I counterned claims with the game is good for where its at during its current stage. And for your blind dumb ass who missed my second post they just released a patch that fixes a large amount of the major bugs in it. hurah for those golden magical patches eh? I said wait to see what kind of patches they release before you speak out of your fucking ass dipshit. I didn't say it was the holy grail I said its good for what it is NOW even with the fucking bugs its good. I said if you don't like it oh the fuck well don't play it. It's no where near vanguard's completely fucked up nature and that should say something nevermind they are actually fixing shit and shit that we request at that. yes you can bitch about content all day except we don't know how much more content will be added or how often they will add new content. I don't doubt it won't have more content the say BIOSHOCK but its a fucking DIABLO 2 sequel. Are you seirously expecting to last as long as baulders gate or some shit? The series is known for recycling content through various difficutlys and keeping you coming back with that carrot of better gear, more levels, more items, etc etc etc. Not coming out with 50 more hours of new content. That being said they do plan to release new content on a regular basis but until they do how the fuck will we know? Furthermore then next 20 levels of content could be 2 hours long or 20 hours long nobody has a SINGLE FUCKING IDEA so how the fuck can you bitch about content? Alpha beta whatever the fuck nobody has a fucking clue incuding ME and YOU. So bitch about content when its all there to bitch about. As I said before you don't like it? Don't play it. Its diablo 2 on steroids with the missing features we always wanted. If thats not what you dreamed of the why the fuck are you here? |

| If the current performance of their server farm is any indication of how things will be are launch, I don't see anyone being able to play for days after the 31st. Over 10hrs of downtime due to "unforseen problems" doesn't inspire much confidence. =) |

To me it really feels like they took Diablo 2's game mechanics, and put them into a Diablo 1 story/atmosphere. The first boss was way less cool then the Butcher. At least the Butcher hurt when he hits. The boss fights through 3 acts have really lacked any wow factor for me. Also, I think HGL suffers from a lack of distinct areas, despite their different tilesets only a handful seemed unique. Nothing at all like Diablo 2's act changes. + They missed a chance to have the tutorial be all Shaun of the Dead like in the suburbs of London.

If thats the case then I apologise for posting misleading info. here's how I see things have gone : 1) Beta was due to start a week ago; 2) The first day, at supposedly beta launch, they had major problems with their processes and infrastructure; at beta they intended to wipe the forums (which were still the alpha forums) and wipe all characters; 3) They continued using the alpha infrastructure/alpha forums and rolled out the beta client; 4) Here we are a few days later; they have today done the forums wipe and the characters wipe. The WoW reference I was making, was that we are in testing / feedback stage, not like WoW which at similar time scales had done their testing and were using their betas as PR to show off the game. My ONLY point is that people who haven't had the chance to play the game are getting a number of people slamming it as though its the finished product, but they are making major changes after less than a week of beta. Like I said, once you've made your mind up about a game, even if you haven't played it, its hard to change your mind.

It's been a well publicized fact that the beta would have characters wipes. This one in specific has been announced for over a week - I knew about it before I ever preordered my copy of the game.

| In this day and age its hard to imagine any company not knowing how super critical and important "open beta" is. The first chance random people get to play your game has to be incredibly fun and polished, otherwise you have just shot yourself in the foot. For all purposes Hellgates beta is open beta, if anyone can walk into a store and pay $5 for a pre-order key then an NDA is of minimal value. Contrast TF2, Hellgate, Tabula Rasa, AOC, and WAR. TF2 has had a great beta, almost everyone loves it and the game is pretty solid and polished. TR is mostly solid but clearly far from finished at endgame, opinions are split on how fun it will be. AOC/WAR are extremely tight-lipped and rightly so, they are still 6+ months from launch and bring down the banhammer quickly on anyone who even thinks about talking about the game since so much stuff can still change. Hellgate is just bizzare, a month before launch and there is confusion on what exactly is going to be in the game, the beta start is a fiasco, everyone is confused on whether the game build is alpha or beta, etc. Its really hard to believe these guys worked at Blizzard. |

| Yea, it is bizarre at the sad state their server infrastructure is this close to launch. Something died yesterday while they were tyring to patch their server(s) and it took them around 24hrs to bring them back up. Now this morning most people cannot patch, and if they do, they get booted off the server. Annoying. |

As for wipes, I'm not pissed about the wipes, I'm pissed that they waited until a week into beta to wipe. Now beta will be pretty much unplayable due to everyone restarting at once. You've got a bunch of people who pre-ordered your games with an itch to play and it will probably be a few days before they can do so with relative ease. It's pretty frustrating. Oh well, I'll just go log into WAR beta. At least that's stable.
