haha I must have over 3 days played and am lvl 11... sucks to be clueless and subjobless haha.

Anyone know of anything I can do so that I get a sound alert or something when I get a group invite or tell in FF so that I can play some Mythos while LFG? Staring at the screen for hours hoping for an invite isn't very rewarding

Missed a group last time I played as I did not notice the invite in time.

I had to level thief to 37 when I returned so I could level my blue mage, did 6-37 on thief in like 4 days with anniversary ring, and it still sucked.

I *hated* leveling Thief. Holy crap, the job sucks until Viper Bite. At least Shadowstich does damage now... it used to not so the only viable weapon until 31? was a sword Thief have a D rank in. I think H2H was valid also but you had to sub monk and... I think their Skill was F if even.

You might take a look at Windower.net. I don't know if you care for playing in windowed, but the program runs addons and custom scripts, so you might be able to scrounge up a way to do that.

Leveling isn't bad at all in groups. I am 20 on rdm and 12 on whm atm w/ about 2 days played most of it running around like a retard till I figured what was what and then hauling to sandoria to change allegiance from windhurst.

Only good thing is being able to two box friends rdm/whm to use as power level when I'm soloing between parties to ensure I fight tough+ mobs and keep me sane instead of grinding on 30 exp per mobs.

Been waiting to get into a good jap group though. Friends keeps telling me it's the best way to gain exp but I guess I keep missing the power hour with me going to bed around 3ish am =P

If you don't mind waiting the new expansion will have a built in windower I believe. Or that's what I have heard from people talking on forums and such.

I'd install it anyway, range to mobs, timestamps on tells and a few other bits n bobs are nice to haves.

As I type the group is on a break in the dunes, 13 currently. I'm on the pre-subjob grind others have stated is horrible I'm not going to leave the Dunes until I'm at least 18 and the 2 parts I need from here and then will probably ask some bored but helpful high levels for a quick bit of help in either the mines or nighttime for a ghoul.

Once you start grouping, how do you make gil or is an accepted part of the game that you occasionally solo stuff to make coins?

Windower is becoming less about windowed mode and more about UI enhancements.

I'm using windower on Vista currently, works fine. The only issue I've run in to is you can't actually minimize FF11, so you have to have some other window open to tab to.

I'm up to 20WAR/10MNK after a really good party last night got me 5 levels, so I'm finally over in Jeuno after Vex helped me out a bunch. I'll be on a while tonight for you folks around 20 if you want to give Qufim a go.

Gil gets kinda slow for sure, just be sure to sell your crystals for as much as you can milk from them. I've yet to see any other source of income besides crystals from partying, aside from Nhilist and Vex being my sugar daddy ^^

I've got 5 ceramic pots growing some things in my mog house right now, so I'll let you know if that turns out to be profitable at all. Other than that the only advice I can give you is to sell your old gear; you can usually get back nearly exactly what you paid for it, so your nest-egg so to speak just kind of grows and grows in that fashion.

Most of the high profile stuff is much cheaper now than even a year ago. Elemental staves 10-20k, Scorpion harness 200k, leaping boots ~300k, etc.

I farm the yagudo that drops monster signa, never gotten it to drop, but I kill all the bees that spawn around him and usually make 80-100k worth of beehive chips + honey in 4-5 hours.

Also, Windower is awesome more so for the UI changes than being able to window. TParty plugin lets you see other group members TP, theres a plugin that auto stacks loot, a Recast plugin for spell/ability timers, etc.

This is the kind of info I need. I used to farm goobbue's or spider webs for money, but spider webs dont seem that good for money anymore. Beehive Chips seem to be about the same as they always were. Do you farm as thf/ or /thf?
