| I pretty much played all freaking weekend. Got BLM to 10, White Mage to 20, Thief to 15, and Dark Knight from 24 to 26. Monday morning came way too fast. ![]()

| DRG = Dragoon right? I was curious if Dragoons are a good class or not. I have read things online about them not being able to find groups etc... They kinda sound like Paladins back in the day in EQ1. Dragoons seem cool to me with their pets and Jump, etc.. How do you like yours? |

Vinen can comment more on the endgame side of the job, but from what I read they aren't that popular in raid stuff because they lack a strong weaponskill, unlike Samurai or Dark Knight. As for exping, I find the job to be a lot of fun. I recently found out you can dismiss your wyvern when it's at 100% health. This is particularly useful for when you are exping on goblins part of the time or on something else that would aoe kill your pet. You can then call it back out when you pull something that doesn't aoe as much. Call Wyvern used to be a 2hr ability, and when it died, you would have to wait until it cooled down to call it out again. It's now a 20 minute ability so if you happen to lose your wyvern, it's out again fairly quickly. Jump's are great for damage / TP Gain and high jump actually sheds some hate. I haven't gotten super jump quite yet, but it sheds 99% hate from what I've read. One of the reasons I picked DRG is that they can solo pretty well later on, for questing or whatever you want to do. Sub a mage, like WHM or RDM and when you cast a spell and your health is low, your wyvern will use a healing breath on you, rather than an offensive breath when you sub certain other subjobs. So you can cast like dia when your health is below 33% I believe and it will heal you. I haven't tested it out personally yet, part of the reason I've been leveling up WHM. I don't know what the seek time is like on them though, I'm currently partying with 3 others and we have been 4 man xping. We xp on stuff closer to our level than a 6man party would and with the change to signet we are still getting around 200 base xp per kill. PLD, RDM, DRG, SAM. Kind of a long response to what you asked, but in summary. I like it. :P Oh and the entire concept of the Dragoon job is just cool to me. Wish our Wyvern looked a little meaner though! edit: My elvaan actually has a 63 DRK and I enjoyed the job quite a bit. It was an extremely hard hitting job, but so far I think my DRG hit just as hard as my DRK did leveling up. We'll see what happens when I get higher level. Only 46 DRG at the moment.

| The Littlest Hobo of MMOs | If you haven't already, it's worth talking to your nation's gate guards and picking up one of the two experience rings. They basically give you a buff you can use that increases exp gain up to a certain level. Can't remember offhand but you can recharge them at your guard for a small number of Conquest Points (CP). Oh yeah, always have Signet on. While there are two kinds, you can't stack one with the other so it's worth spending the points and getting the better of the two. |

| I'm torn as to what job I want to be. Right now I'm a MNK and I will probably be going MNK/WAR at least until 30, if not longer. I'm starting to think I should have started as a warrior as it seems to support more main jobs than a MNK does. Who knows, I might just be MNK/WAR to 75 lol. Does a MNK support any main (post 30)jobs nicely? |

So a MNK is wanted in exp parties? If the MNK class can pickup parties decently that is enough to keep me playing it post 30. The last thing I want to do is be a class that can't get parties in a party-centric game. Last edited by Vithe; 10-29-2007 at 08:39 AM..

Also if you do pick up the exp ring from your conquest points person, make sure you get the Empress band.

They give 1000 bonus. Given that you get *I think* 1 cp per 10xp; they end off paying themselves off. I know with the ToAU points it's 10000xp = 1000points.

| I'm level 15. Right now I really love MNK, do some good dmg, love counter, love my HP, etc... So if MNKs are wanted in parties then I am cool with taking it to 75. If not, then I should definately figure out something else. I want to get parties, thats the best part of this game. |

+58 Internets | So that's what those little balls next to some stats were. So a sword with a little red ball and a 5 besides it is 5+ fire resistance I take it? No idea what I'm really looking at up there (edit: that picture that I just noticed is at the bottom of page 32) ^^ either Also getting on today to play, still just a noob level 10 warrior, but hoping to get into the teens today. Any recommendations for job paths? Like Ninja and Samurai for the obvious choice that I get to use a Katana =/ but the Dragoon up above made that song pretty fun. I don't mind being a tank in groups, but probably leaning towards a job that is more or less just really high dps. Last edited by Ham n Cheese; 10-29-2007 at 08:54 AM.. |
