+58 Internets | Oh man just realized as I was playing my trial account that I was going to have to rebuy the game after the trial. Should've just bought the bullet and paid the $12 or whatever to activate the old account. Which is what I'm going to do now, and I guess start over ;( |

+58 Internets | I'm only level 9, but man was I happy to get out of level 8! Though no idea if I have aht'ugran, was that included in the collection that came out a year or two ago (gold box)? If I'm an expansion short I might as well drop down the cash. Can you buy it with DD or anything? And do I still get $20, otherwise the price difference becomes subscription + $20, instead of just the $12 versus $20 edit: another question since my client just crashed. I noticed axes are higher damage but much slower. is the payoff worth it? I've only been working up sword but saw some claymores for sell after I got level 10 and thought about buying one if it worked up another skill. Is it another skillset, is it worth working up and losing the shield, etc? Last edited by Ham n Cheese; 10-27-2007 at 09:49 PM.. |

+58 Internets | So I guess FFXI doesn't autorenew? I cancelled my content ID yesterday to avoid billing until I find out the deal with the above ^ and then couldn't log on this morning. Though went to reactivate and it said the charge would be $0, so I did it, not sure wtf is going on. If I'm about to have a charge on my CC or what heh. Definitely the most confusing billing system ever |

| Gamepad I'm sure this has been answered here but I'm going to be play the dick and ask again :\ Is using a gamepad/controller optimal for this game? I used keyboard when I played way back (Mind you I only played until 30ish to so on my Ranger and Dragoons) but right now I'm struggling with the controls. Anyway, would a vent/gamepad make my life easier? And if so, what do you guys reccomend for gamepads? Thanks. |

+58 Internets | I use the basic cheap Logitech rumblepad that looks like a ps2 controller. Love playing with a gamepad, get to kick back and feel like a total lazy ass a lot of the time. Which has been essential in my grinding of bees and crabs. Controls didn't take very long to get used to at all for me, though I've forgotten how to make macros (the text to put in the actual macro, not the process itself) during my time away, so I do a few more pushing down on the buttons than I even need to. |

Most macros will be /< command > "< name >" < target > /ja "Flee" < me > (Use Job Ability Flee on me) /ma "Cure" < p2 > (Cast Magic Cure on party member 2) /ws "Tachi: Kaiten" < t > (Use the game's most awesome player weaponskill on your target) /ta < bt > (Target the battle target of your party...use carefully) /ra < t > (Fire a ranged attack at target) /echo < anything > (Print this text or text macro out on your screen...Useful for /echo < tp > or something if you don't use TPartyStat) /recast "Sneak Attack" (Print out the recast timer for the ability in quotes) /equip hands "Ochiudo's Kote" (Equip O. Kote in your hands...these macros will become important if you start having one set of gear to TP in and one set to WS/SA/TA/heal/whatever in) /item "Antidote" < me > (Drink an antidote) I think that's pretty much all of the macro types I use or have used on a regular basis. Lately I've been just going through menus for some really repetitive stuff, but it's not really more efficient by any means. Just started doing it for some reason. | The Littlest Hobo of MMOs | I have a Galka on Fenrir called Roadblock. Have warrior at 36, ninja at around 25 before cash dried up. Thinking of taking paladin to 75 as it's a pretty cheap job to level and the changes they made recently seem pretty nice. Besides, having a Galka paladin between you and mobs generally seems to calm most party members down unless they're lazy ass white mages who would rather have a ninja so they can nuke and do precious little else. ![]() |
