On another note, I totally forgot how to do pretty much anything in this game.

Any other reminders for returning players besides that Mogtoolz thing? I feel like a newb again heh.
Download Windower and learn how to script macros for it (Really not that hard)

Make sure you download MrArgus whenever possible.

It still makes me laugh to this day how serious people take it if you even whisper the name of that program.

Does it even still work? I figured most people would have moved on to newer tools

Last I checked it did. I never really used it in practice, just liked to mess with it in my mog house and was intrigued by how it worked.

My EQ account, which is...like a decade old is still kicking, but FFXI refuses to offer me the same service. Neat.

And also, unrelated, the combat is so slow paced you can make yourself a sandwich and eat it and come back and you've swung about five times. I don't know why the crap I came back to that game.

You Must have played a Dragoon.....

FFXI is the one of the few games I've played where idiots will say the combat system blows and all I can say after multiple 75 job (DRK MNK PLD NIN and WAR) combat and understanding combat mechanics take some decent talent.

Its kinda similar to what they initially use to say about WoW....anyone can play that but only a few players ever master that game.

I also agree that the story of the world of Van'adiel is more engrossing then any other game in the last few years. I don't think I've ever been shocked to find out the tauren shaman npc who gave me my lvl 40 belt is dead....where as doing the Chains of Promithia mission you really feel sorry when Tenzen unsheathes his Katana and unleashes Phoenix.

Both npcs were simply part of the main plot of the game and not some elite quest thats only a few high lvl players have access to

I got one yesterday at Gamestop, it was right on the checkout counter next to a 2$ WoW trial and a free Guildwars disc.

Fenrir here but I couldn't restore my old 75 toon so I'm left with my baby 24 Galka ninja and empty pockets. Since all this RMT clamping down making money in that game has become a real pain in the arse.

Yeah, obtaining money is a serious issue in the game now. It's a lot easier for the average player to obtain the items which they used to sell... problem is... this is a result of them being changed to Rare Ex. I don't know what I would do personally if I wasn't getting a payout from my HNM LS once a month of ~3-5mil.

Ohh and FUCK KHROMA ORES... k thx

So what is everybody just scattered across the servers who actually plays heh? I believe that EQ2 chic who plays here (sorry forgot your name) is even on a different server than you two. Organization people!

The last of my stable friends just stopped playing and I hate the linkshell I'm in, so I'm thinking of stepping away from the game until the expansion. Then maybe finding another server to hop to.

I have no job over 41, warrior being the 41, everything else is 7-37. Would most likely start playing "before the expansion" again provided I had a solid group myself.
