| New SOE Game - Legends of Norrath: Card Game Listening to the Uberguilds SOE Fanfaire cast, Smed just announced an "MMO" cardgame playable through EQ1 & EQ2, and outside of both games (playing in-game characters?). There's a card store built into the games, and you get card drops off of mobs (OMG this sounds so retarded). There are rare loot cards that give you in-game items. No one clapped after they played the video (audio only, so I'm not sure what it was). Sounds gimmicky and stupid to me, personally.. I guess it could turn into a path of advancement for some people, but the fact that you can buy them.. ugh. I don't want to see this stuff in EQ2... not after it's gotten so far *sigh*. |

| I know, he started it off by saying "We have a brand new game to announce... and it's an EverQuest game. We've gotten very far with EQ1 and EQ2, and now we bring you ... "; I was thinking they were going to announce the production of EQ3 or something, or maybe a spinoff type game but... this? Ugh. I can just imagine the disappointed looks on the audience after they've been hyping this big reveal and it's a card game. Haha. |

I think that people warmed up to the idea after Smed explained that cards would drop in game and after they showed a demo of the game being played across the EQ1 and EQ2 clients. Smed also stated that all FF attendees would be in the Beta for the card game that they would keep any decks and loot that they had accumulated during the beta when the game launches in August. Trust me if they leave them at a 5 second recast time, people will wipe out the new exspansion in record time. You think Pots were a problem in WoW before they retuned them, this will be the same thing.. Lets put it this way, if you have the Vett AA for complete heal ,complete mana + the item from the cards that does the same thing + 5-6 pots on each raider, youre guild will be able to take down anything SOE throws at em Last edited by column; 08-04-2007 at 01:20 AM..

I went through the in-game items that they're adding and other than the 50% run speed mount, there's nothing terribly overpowered or annoying. If it's something folks find fun, more power to them. I hope they enjoy it. But seriously, this needs restrictions. I don't want to be on a raid or in a group and have some fucktard send a request from EQ1 to come play Pokemon. Just thinking about wiping to this is already pissing me off =p

| really? 10k mana on a 5 second recast time is not overpowering? what game are you playing..obviousley not EQ anymore combine this with the VET aa and the kiss of mar ( from the card game that gives 10k mana 5k endurance thats not expendable) and you got a incredibly obvious overpowered batch of items from a EQ standpoint. Problem with FoH is very few people on here still raid high end EQ, so they spout shit that they have no clue about..because they used to play back in the day. | We bawlin boi! | Jesus christ, they put something in which should be fun for people who enjoy that kind of thing (like me), and already bitching has ensued. Mini games within the game has been something mmo's have desperately needed for awhile. The true next gen MMO's will have their own kind of mini-games (think Chess or Star Trek chess, or the Star Wars "Let the wookie win" game) in pubs and such with maybe an npc band you could pay coin as a jukebox for etc, to just kick back and relax with friends or whatever if you have some time to kill. How could that level of depth not add to your world? People need to wash the sand out of their vags. Thinking this is going to throw the raid game into some sort of upheaval at this point I would say is just a *tad* presumptious, don't you? ![]()

| I could care less about the card game, thats acutely a good feature along with the gimmick ingame items. Its just a couple of blatently overpowered items that need to be toned down. Anyway there already getting alot of flack from the people that know whats up on there website so I'm sure they will be retuned by the end of beta. Last edited by column; 08-04-2007 at 02:22 AM.. |
