+4 Internets | A friend of mine asked me about AoC about 3 weeks before release. All I read on here was how it was going to be a big abortion if it was released in its currents state. That the melee was boring after a few levels, lots of crashes, crappy frame rates not to mention unbalanced and a horrible UI. I hadnt played it but I read a lot of the threads so I told him it would be shit based on what I was reading. Oops. Having played it now I can agree with the UI part, but it's still fun. Worth the 50 bucks and the month or two I'll play it. More if end game sieging is fun. Of course the PvE will be WoW because WoW is an amalgamation of all the prior MMO PvE games. Distilled and polished. Yes it will look like WoW just like Conan looks like Vanguard or EQ2. If they make a FFA PvP server and you can kill everyone you want. |

Enjoy your zergy 48vs48 and 150vs150. And sure, it was a bug that nobody could build t3 cities so no siege pvp yet in AoC... it was no block because the server cannot handle it yet. Sure. Aaaaaaaaaanyway, back to WAR. I havent logged into beta since AoC open beta. Any (good) changes that could turn it around for WAR? | |

| Like I said, I don't have anything against the game, I've only posted my opinions. I feel like this game will be just like LOTRO. Where LOTRO was a PVE focused game that followed the trends of WOW, whereas WAR will most likely be the same thing except it's PVP focused. If you want another positive thing, every MMO should steal Public Quests. Great idea, great system. |

| I remember reading an unauthorized book review of the first few chapters of the first draft of of the 7th Harry Potter book. The reviewer said it was bad, and the pages didn't turn right, and the story was a rehash of all the books before it. I'm pretty glad I didn't buy it! Seriously though, the game is in closed beta. It's not at all surprising the majority of the invited player base isn't interested in playing an incomplete game. It could be worse, it could be like AOC. Or Darkfall, lawl. |

| Stop running back to old times | I don't think I'll be getting the old frontier keep battle sensation I was looking for w/ this game. And I seriously doubt the shit mythic is trying to do will be any thing like the original with DAoC, o well. I'm sure another "great" pvp/rvr game will come along in a few years. |

| Lots of good stuff from that article at the convention. 50 Tidbits From Games Day 2008 « Waaagh! A Warhammer Online Blog Guild banners hang in the pubs, awesome. But even better is they're already working on the endgame and beyond. My PvP guild has been going nuts over this game. I hate you fuckers in the beta. I'm dying to get in. |
