I think win-trading will only be an issue when people race ahead of the level curve. If there aren't a lot of people around to fight, small groups might be better off recapping behind each other.

Once there are lots of people around, there will be more renown from just killing people. Plus keep lord loot will become less of an issue. Four loot bags divided between a huge zerg is less rewarding than four bags split between a single group of six.

Racing to the level cap is not a good idea in WAR. Once you get ahead of the level curve, there are fewer scenarios popping and less action in the RvR areas. You can race to the level cap and farm PvE gear, but someone that stays in the middle of the curve and RvRs all the time will have good gear plus bonus stats from renown ranks.

Oh, believe me, they wanted this game, maybe even a bit too much. Maybe getting hyped up about this game 1-2 years ago and then falling into a "hole" played a role too.
Don't get too hung up on this Level 5 thing, it was a bit exagerated. I didn't interview everyone of them in detail, but the chorus in the guild forum 1-2 days after the start was "this is too bad, i'm giving up".
My main Point is: Don't get hyped up about this game too much, it may very well be that you'll be turned off pretty soon.

Depends on too many things. It could as well be it pays off to race to 40, cap undefended objectives for some insignificant RR, then farm probably not well tuned PvE content. After the majority enters T3, scenarios start popping and RvR objectives get reset by opposition, so you can farm them with your gear advantage and ability advantage.

Then again RvR gear is sickly overpowered in some level gaps, but generally useless for leveling as it has too much resists and not enough armor.

Yeah you should be able to patch the beta. They mentioned giving a grace period for your box to arrive. Typically you patch the beta, play at release and then have a week or two to enter the codes from your box when it arrives.

Mostly just rough guestimation. I've been in the beta since 3.0 so I know the way the game's changed, and it's gotten a lot better. Mythic's doing a good job with the patches, there's no way to disagree with that.
I was joking that people act like playing pre 3.3 was as bad as getting a terminal illness, and joking about the fact that you could figure out EXACTLY which beta phase he was in based on how bad his reaction was. It's a sad fact that a good portion of beta players nowadays play just for the free playtime and also to get their hands dirty early on. Gone are the days where you had game testers with ironcast stomachs putting up with horrid bugs in games on every platform. Now we have a bunch of sissy boys who want 1337 beta infoz and they happen to get paid good money to test console releases as well.

Basically when you get your open beta, you will have your installation then and there. Your codes will give you the grace period and you will be playing as if you have the game until your box arrives. When you get the box you'll get get your hard copy, your goodies and your retail key to seal the deal from then on.

Not so sure about RvR gear not being good for leveling at any level range. The RR16 armor set that you can get now as a template character in beta (character is lvl31 / 25) is very nice, a bit too good for the level that you can obtain it most likely. The next set, RR22 is even better and it has a lvl req of 39/22, so it seems the RvR gear will be all you need to reach PvE cap easily.

I saw people mention how there is very limited CC... what exactly is the limited CC? Are there stuns/mezzes/roots/snares?

Same deal with stealth, it was mentioned that its very minimal... who gets it? How is it used and how viable is it?

There are short duration stuns, roots and snares. Tanks get alot of it, melee and ranged dps get some sort of cc, there are also knockbacks, disarms and silences.

The 2 stealth classes are the Witch Hunter and Witch Elf, they both get a short stealth on a cooldown. Its basically there to help them close the gap to enemy lines. No class has a permanent stealth ability.

Can you cap keeps by yourself if there are no defenders?

1) Outlevel populace with a Witchhunter in your group.
2) Pick Locks.
3) ????
4) Profit.

Ok so we will be able to put in our codes Aug. 15th. Anyone else think it is going to be like the 17th and might be able to play by the 22nd?

I'm not sure what you mean. But if you mean that you don't need to control T1 in order to control T4, you are wrong. To get a chance to control T4, you need to control T1, T2 and T3 zones.

All the podcasts state that control of the lower tiers help the higher tiers, but aren't necessary.

edit:
old podcast on the matter 3:20ish in

newest podcast about 50 sec in

This is truth.

Even the latest podcast confirms this. While they help contribute to T4, the earlier Tiers are not necessary.
