Not like it gives us any ground breaking info.

I like the idea of every class having Focus instead of mana like in WoW. The mana drain dominance in WoW arena right now blows. Can't stand the state of that. WoW pvp would really improve by removing rage/focus/mana and just having 1 universal one for each ability you use.

Agreed. It seems 50% of all changes to casters now are just to make sure they can play the mana game. Hell, Everquest was even the same way. It's a bit silly at this point to give them such gigantic pools and slow (relatively) regeneration.

I don't like that idea of energy focus type bar for every class. Instead of doing anything you want until your mana runs out, you have to play by ticks of energy >_> YES a tick of energy now I can use 2-3 more abilities and wait again!!

Rage and Energy as vauge concepts are probably better ideas to focus on going into the future than the traditional Mana is really. Though I agree the specific mechanics will likely need adjusting.

Gear seems to be pretty readily avaliable right off the bat, and the few PvP world objectives I've played are fun and very epic in size. What really lacks is the combat system IMO.

Basically I liked it, but only because I'm a Warhammer fan, but in no way shape or form did it grab my attention like WoW did. WoW got me wanting to keep playing over and over and over, the second I stepped foot in Mulgore. Warhammer unfortunately just does not have the same appeal for me, and I don't think it will for a lot of players.
So basically they are saying they are still really into WoW and uncomfortable with learning a new combat system where the rules aren't spelled out for them on a fansite...gotcha.

I am going to wait to see it for myself.

Well that would be NDA breaking but I think you can make an educated guess.

Re: The Leak.

It's pretty inconsistent and wrong.

More like 1 ability for every 3 ticks.

I've heard beta right now is just 1 class open. They're going through on very specific things one at a time. Like having only 1 "battleground" scenario open, then open a starting zone and have you play 1 class and get intense feedback on it.

Nothing major but I thought it worth a post:

WarCry Network : Warhammer Online: Exclusive Interview #12

Two interesting comments:

Quote:
WarCry: As a company, you know first hand the challenges of population balance in a game with multiple factions. What have you done to make sure the playing field remains even in WAR?

EA Mythic: We have a number of things in the hopper for dealing with this, ranging from Community-related initiatives to RvR-related items. This is definitely something we think about on a daily basis.
So to me this is saying, "we havent come up with very much more than we had in DAoC". Understandable certainly, but hopefully not a huge issue. If anything, lower pop realms will need to just accept they wont control open world keeps for very long if at all and focus on winning Scenarios it seems. If they add incentives and perks to lower pop realms it shouldnt be too terrible I suppose.

Anyone know if Keep ownership is a static, one time point reward or if you get more the longer you own it?

Quote:
WarCry: With the announcement of Mounts in game, will they do anything other than fast travel?

EA Mythic: Mounts are primarily a form of travel in the game, as well as a visual status symbol of player achievement. There are no other major game play features beyond travel intended for mounts at the launch of WAR.
This is good. They had strongly hinted at mounted combat in the game a few months back. Looks like that's now been cut. I'm a big proponent of working on the fundamentals then adding the new stuff after that's solid and polished.

Yeah ideally I'd like mounted combat in, but not at the cost of neglecting polish and content. Expansion mounted combat would be fine though
