seems like blizzard wants to provide it's own service for these sorta things...the stuff we all visit spoiler sites for. i wonder if companies making major mmo's in the future will do that from the start; armory, database, etc...

seems like it would benefit their sales/subs more and prevent certain types of cs problems before they ever have a chance to start

Somehow that just doesn't make sense to me. Game developers don't make games and then turn around and hand you a cheat guide to the game that they just spent 5 years making.

Am I misunderstanding you in what type of site you're talking about? If its just an player profile armory site or something like that, thats fine. Coming out with their own Wowhead.com, that's not.

Cheat guide? Spoiler guide possibly, but not cheating. I don't think most people consider Wowhead or Thottbott cheating.

Honestly, those two sites made WoW a much better game in my opinion.

Warhammer is going to have The Tome of Knowledge which is essentially like a built in wowhead. Built into the game client itself, I mean.
