| Kinda depressing how many events were going on in '00 and '01. Really miss those kinda events. Does WoW not do this b/c of lack of lore or freedom? With all the money going into it I can't imagine them not having enough gm's to do this kinda thing. Botb was one of the coolest things, I havn't even heard of the FV events. |

The FV event is mostly remembered for the Battle of Kithicor...basically the even that made it turn from a n00b zone during the day into n00b hell at night (as well as signal the opening of POH). However, on our server anyways, it was pretty much a month long deal. It started with minor events, then ramped up with Lanys appearing and trying to recruit evil people while Carson Highkeep or McCabe or whatever and Commander Aiken tried to get the good people to join. I was made an officer (sgt, cause i was 10 seconds too late to get commander). The GMs/Guides playing the characters would have recruitment drives, training sessions, send people on spying missions (complete with executions if they got caught), money running to fund the war effort, commando raids, assassination attempts during meetings (My favorite attempt was when we met in Qeynos Hills...they spawned like 100 lvl 40 skeletons and tried to have them attack the acted characters + the player officers...I was running around and pwning them with my monk, plus I even saved noobs by throwing shurikens to grab aggro as the noobs ran away). Before the Kithicor Event, there was the battle of the commonlands. Each side had a different side of the commons to control. They had everyone join the GM created guild then did a guild war command, so it was mass PVP carnage + NPCs they spawned. During the 1st battle the good commander Aiken was assassinated and I gave this awesome movie-styled revenge speech to the guild which everyone, including the GMs, really dug. The 2nd day we pwned the badguys hardcore (the GMs kinda cheated too by spawning tons of lvl 50 super rogue mobs in the middle of their casters rofl). Then the final battle was in Kithicor on Halloween. They spawned tons of lvl 50 mobs that hit like fire giants. They also staged the invasion of Riverdale. They spawned armies of "elite" dark elves. The ground of that city was literally carpeted with the corpses of assling noobs. The guildwar option wasn't on, so we pretty much had to fight the super NPCs in all the lag. Then all the acted characters started to fight. The evil SK that was Lanys' teacher would sometimes spam harmtouch on people. Eventually Lanys got owned and asked her dad, Innoruk, for help. At that point the entire zone was AE-blinded + deathtouched, which crashed Kithicor. When it came back, everyone had a dupe corpse, so the GMs made everyone leave and spent like 2 hours poofing the dupe corpses after everyone (summoned a couple at a time) looted their "real" corpse. Afterwards all the good guys met in Highhold Keep and Carson + Lanys handed out unique drops to all the officers and hooked up all the other good players with a bag of plat and some food.

| Heh, I remember they were going to give me a title for solving some sort of puzzle they had in one of their emails (it was extremely easy, I just was quicker then everyone else and posted it on the safehouse) and finding some EQ2 website (something about the wailing caves if I remember correctly). But since I play at EU times and the GM who was supposed to give me the title was an US GM I never got it. Not like it mattered much anyway, since I quit shortly after... but I suppose it would have been neat to be some level 30 schmuck with a sweet title. |
