+14 Internets | I remember fire giants utterly raping us until we figured out you had to stand under their nuts to land a spell. Such a stupid mechanic.

I honestly always figured the SoS/LoS kill was legit and frankly still do. While obviously it was trashed, there wasn't anything done that was not common practice later in EQ's lifecycle. These were the days when anything (non line-of-sight exploiting) goes though and not so much what newer games employ. Hell, by 'modern' standards almost every kill in EQ was exploited.

+45 Internets | If its never changed, an exploit just becomes a strat. See Dain. Who do you think killed him first and then posted a SS of him at the bottom of the well? ;p If it does get changed, then people are going to shit all over what you did no matter what. Like AoW. I'd say Seru but I'm pretty sure we widely advertised that it wasn't legit, much like with Tormax and AL poking fun at themselves for dying ten times each. Sometimes the design is just dumb and it takes a wake up call to get it changed. Allow bind in a raid zone, brilliant! Heh was kinda funny - I was looking at a pretty recent EQ website (yeah they exist) and it had this blurb about past guilds and such. And in every case where a mob was killed in a sketchy fashion, they had replaced whatever guild was involved with FoH. Funny, I don't recall sploiting RZ and getting all my flags removed, when did that happen? Laugh. And apparently, Afterlife got every first kill ever. Its so fun being the bad guy. | That early MC action where some guild got in trouble (Conquest? you naughty people) for pulling bosses through trash and without their adds was pretty awesome. What would have been allowed in EQ gets you shit on in WoW. Probably my only real gripe about WoW. Beat the boss the way the Devs want you to or get the hell out. etc

That was on Karana or Terris Thule (I transfered from Karana to TT, but I don't remember if it happened before or after the movelog). And I am pretty sure he was summoning people from Valon, but I'm not completely sure. | |

| The Avatar kill with the charmed pet was one of the most if not the most impressive killings I've ever heard off ( several reasons really, one it being a good example for fun creative and out of the box thinking and me being an enchanter who loved to screw with the environment in the most freakish ways)and we in Mortalis did quite a few crazy things ( and killed AoW as one of the first as well lol @ 15 cleric no gap chain. Was right when luclin came out i remember). Not to give sony and verant any credit, they surely would have tried to stop this fun way instantly and they actually did later on but Kael'drakkel ( was that the zones name?)in its first incarnation owned really. This is just another "i want more freedom you useless devs" post, chance.... strike! /rude sony_andother_numbercrunchers Last edited by kasey : 06-29-2007 at 01:22 PM. |
