+1 Internets | KS is the only lvl 80 guild on AB server. Not sure why you got ignored, the guild has been super friendly and helpful to me. Look for me in game and i can find you an invite. I should be on tonight. |

+38 Internets | So, I assume the hype has died down a bit now surrounding the new expansion... looking at it now, is it good? I'm thinking about picking it up just to mess around with some of the newbie content (I have no high level characters), would it be worth bothering with or was it disappointing? |

+38 Internets | Cool, I may check it out then. I played some when Neriak was patched in, but after I got finished with the 1-20 content the game just fell apart for me, I really didn't like any of the old world zones and Butcherblock didn't seem that great either. Is there anything new for that range? I wasn't clear on whether or not Kunark had full 1-80 content or if it was just 1-20ish and then you're back to EoF, etc. Funny story though: I went out to get the retail box that includes all the expansions. Walked in to the local Gamestop, didn't see it on the shelf so I ask the guy about it. "What's EQ2?" he asks. I tell him EverQuest 2, MMO, yadda yaddda. Without even acknowledging what I was saying, he's like, "We have WoW, have you played that?" I just kinda laughed. Went to a couple other stores and none of them had it either, I guess I'll have to go digital download if I want it. :/ |

The new content is only 1-20 and 65-80(ish - not sure about exactly when it's accessible). I did Butcherblock at 20. It is a step down from Tenebrous Deep, but there have been at least a few improvements to it with RoK (a couple new quests and a small new sarnak camp are what comes to mind).

I picked up my copy at Best Buy. They seem to still dedicate shelf space to PC Games still. At least all the new releases are still there. If worse, just order it from amazon. You'll get a box but it'll probably take a day or 2. I did that with EoF without any probs. Any PC Game that's not on shelves would come from amazon. I never dealt with them for pre-orders before tho. Like I said, Best Buy still had a healthy amount of PC Games and would goto them for those.

Anywho, my Sarnak SK is 27 now. I ended up turning off adventure XP as I only just started Butcherblock and barely done anything in Nektulos. Will probably finish up the Froglok line and get the Heritage quests started before I turn it on again. Is there any word at all on if they will ever get EQ2 to utilize multiple cores? It annoys the piss out of me to see 1 core sweating while the other twiddles it's thumbs.

But they are so many of them and they are so not needed in raid...level one only as an alt or if you plan to stay a casual never raiding player. If EQ2 took something from EQ1, it is the Guardian (warrior) - others tanks relationship.

| Brigand / swash are desired (brigand more so i believe) and can solo if specced for it. Wiz are very good soloers and who don't want DPS? Of course illu/coercers are great soloers but may be a little harder to play and you will die a lot just for a bad resist at a bad time. Great soloers with great mortality rate. And easy to get a raid spot with them. I soloed as a templar and as a defiler and well..they can solo, even heroics mobs, but it is so slow you have to like more tactical games than MMO i think Now i don't say you will not be able to find a raiding guild or even a raiding spot as a SK...but it will be hard. They are dime a dozen, nearly everybody got his SK alt, and as a healer i sure prefer a MT guardian than a MT SK. But SK can get 1 spot in raid (just not MT). You will have to fight with 1000 of them for it. Edit : For assassins, you can always level as a ranger and betray to assassin before going into raid mode. | The Littlest Hobo of MMOs | To be fair though, there are a metric fuckton of brigs and swashies in the game as well. Everyone is lining up to play the two most unbalanced classes and many raiding guilds have closed doors to them already due to saturation. It's that way on Runnyeye at least. |

I would just bite the bullet and roll a guardian, high desirability end game and you will still be able to grind out solo quests easily. Sure you wont have the utility to kill heroics or some other tricks that a SK can do while solo, but you will be better off in t8 when people need a tank. Also tanks are wanted through the entire game, hell I see groups spamming for tanks all night on AB. And guardians hold aggro like a beast.
