| The Littlest Hobo of MMOs | I so much want to like this game, moreso as a bunch of my EQ mates are playing it now. However, I can say hand on heart there's not really one level past 13 or so that I've enjoyed grinding. Every single level up to where I am now, 62, has been a total fucking chore. The odd bit of excitement as I get near a new Mastercrafted gear level just vanishes as soon as I equip the gear, go out, and perform just as poorly as I did before against white and yellow cons. Gear just doesn't seem to make a huge difference to my performance so far, I don't know if gaining raid equipment will suddenly make me in to a monster soloing but right now I just don't see it. Then there's the whole "invisible" wall crap wherever you go. You try jumping over stuff or walking up a piece of scenery and you suddenly find you're not allowed to go there. I can't remember one piece of water in EQ I couldn't jump in, a wall I couldn't climb up or a cliff I couldn't fall off. Please, for the love of God stop designing these outdoor zones where I have to walk 5 miles around a zone wall when I could just walk up a five foot high piece of earth and walk in a straight line to where I want to go. |

| Grizzlebeard, the reason why you think that is because you're still fighting monsters equal or higher to your level. If you fought lower level monsters, you'd see a difference. I'm not sure what class you are, but levels 1-15 were a chore for me because it took me forever to solo. After that, groups start to stream in and it's just so nice. Hella, you're right, a templar is too easy to play because most of the time in raids, you're curing. Sure you have to be fast on the cures then a quick heal, but that's all you do. These days when I get so /bored, I just nuke shit in raids (KoS raids and Emerald Halls) because most of the time, 3 or so healers can keep up the entire raid unless it's a boss fight. edit: Hime, I'm exactly like you. I only log onto raid these days because school is keeping me so busy and that Crushbone isn't exactly like Antonia Bayle (group happy). :P

| Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough, but just curious how long the average raid takes? From start to finish that is for the average guild. Also what all is there to do at max level? God don't say pvp. |

| For the average guild, FTH takes about 2 hours. IS probably takes 3 hours, while EH can take anywhere from 5 to 10 hours depending on your luck of named, however this can be split apart. All KoS raid instances take between 1 hour and 3 hours. Oh and Clockwork Menance takes about 30-minutes. Whiel an average guild will not be able to do New Tunarian Throne Room beyond the Elemental, which would probably take an hour to get to.

| I basically quit playing and unsubbed about 3 weeks after I hit 70. I actually stopped payment just a couple days ago.It really sucks too because I had the best time I have ever had lvling up a character with EQ2. Post 70 in EQ2 is so bad it isnt even funny. Im not just talking raids either. Where is my carrot once I hit max lvl? Why is it that I could spend hours upon hours in Bastion if Thunder and completely forget about the time (back when I played EQ) and yet once I ran Unrest in Eq2 a couple of times (which is badass btw) I really had no desire to go there again? | It's the same with WoW, if you don't raid atleast. The only MMO with decent non raid content at max level is probably FFXI. I only log into EQ2 to raid, did the same with WoW for years aswell. |

+58 Internets | I never once got that impression (tough guy) in any of the games I've played with him. To lead you probably have to show up every day (or close to) and he knows that and I don't mean it as an insult but there was never a real chance of it being a "real" 'raid guild'. Though I never thought that's what MW was about, I guess once everyone leveled up it did. I always saw it as a social guild... a stepping stone if you will, since the turnover in eq2 is so high. I do think a forum guild would work by the way, just not in EQ2. Or at least not if the majority of the 'core' members are starting based off a new thread. I think Talisman could've even worked in VG had VG not been so shitty. |

+4 Internets | I think the lack of desire to do anything post 70 is simply there is NOTHING you can do to progress your character outside of raids. I am in a casual guild that still hasnt defeated Mayong, but yet I have no purpose whatsoever to log in outside of raid times. Cowbell, you brought up grinding away in EQ1 and losing track of time. There was always AA to grind and better yet... AA that made a considerable difference. EQ2 has a gayed up version of AAs that are quick to reach 100 cap and really arent much difference in the grand scheme of things to your character. At least certainly no-where near as rewarding as EQ1. There is certainly a glaring lack of a "carrot" in post 70 EQ2. Be it unique items, toy items, AA points, or whatever... its simply lacking.

I just wanted to thank you, sincerely, for wasting several months of my, a few officers, and well over 100+ members time while you figured out that leading a guild is serious business and that you don't have the drive / time / stomach / commitment for the task. Glad you have that lesson under your belt now. The sad part is, that guild had potential, a lot of it. It's unfair to heap all the blame for the demise of the Mistwalkers on your narrow shoulders, but I am perfectly comfortable with letting the lions share rest there. Credit where credit is due, after all.

| It was a good guild to understand game mechanics. That's all. I have to say, I probably wouldn't have reached level 70 if it wasn't for Mistwalkers to keep me entertained. I'm one of those people who HAVE to see someone talking or they get bored -- unless you have a steady stream of groups. But, thinking of it as a raiding guild really killed it and I knew it was going to happen because you have casual players and hardcore raiders. When you have casual officers who rarely log on, you know it's going to go downhill. Like I said, it was a good guild. Did cause me stress, but it was fun learning a lot of shit. ![]()
