But if this person left in the middle of KoS, then I don't see how he can say anything about class-specific loot as it did not exist in KoS. All KoS loot was very much not class specific at all. Plus, let's not forget the fact that loot dropped like candy and that it took no time at all to equip a raid. Things have changed since then as well, most AEs don't kill people anymore. Plus, there are quite a few more unique models for raid mobs. Of course, raiding in EQ2 is boring in a different way, mainly the way that the vast majority of mobs have become cookie cutter copies. Oh look, an AE+Power Drain, ooh it spawns adds too, and then oh look it has some "unique" ability to make the fight harder. Then again, EQ2 raiding got even more boring once they nerfed the hell out of it and made everything easier.

| Anyone play on the euro servers can let me know what one is most populate with raiding guilds? I played the game from early beta and a few months of retail not played since, thinking off coming back starting afresh but only play mmo's to raid. Don't wanna pick a server that is hard to get groups with and poor raiding guilds |

I played from Beta until mid-DoF on Runnyeye in the top raid guild Xanadu. Back then there was fuck all competition. We basically had a lock-down of contesteds with our best streak of nearly 3 months without losing a single one! No joke. It seemed there were three or four guilds fighting for the #2 spot, but they were miles apart in content / gear than the #1. I ended up quitting over the sweeping combat revamp and didnt play again until December 2005. I decided to play more casually, so decided to see what life was like on the other server (Splitpaw) and made a Wizard. It seems that there are plenty of top-end raid guilds (Fable being #1) and quite a few casuals progressing perfectly fine. I am in a casual guild now (less than 50% attendance) and we still manage to clear all of EoF instancing except Emerald Halls, where we can clear the first floor. I personally have never even seen an EoF contested in the game! In summary, you might want to ask opinions about the current state of Runnyeye but if its not changed much, there seems to be a lot more raiding guilds on Splitpaw. The one thing I will say is that the server lacks a low level population. I honestly wish they would merge the two servers to help out new people in the game.

| So what the fuck is this? I can't patch. I install all expansions up to EoF, run the patcher. It downloads something named eq2_keymap_other.ini_delta and then starts to decompresses it and then stops. I bet this has to fucking do with vista doesn't it? Which I am running.

| So I'd never given EQ2 another chance from my early days of playing, I'd moved on to other games, but I decided that I would finally try it out. As a complete and utter 'noob' on AB, I rolled a Fae Conjuror (I've never played a pet class in a game before). I'm pretty surprised at the number of people in Greater Fay. It's a lot more active than I'd have thought and there's also plenty of 'noobs' like me playing it seems. You can tell from chat when people ask questions that no one that has ever played would ask. Maybe the population thins out more later on in levels. It's more fun this time around for me though (I think I just enjoy Greater Fay better). Plus, I enjoy playing the Fae race and floating down from great heights. I'll see how it goes, but so far I'm enjoying it.

| I figured it out, I just needed to restart my computer for whatever reason so it could start patching that file.
