Well I'd like to hitch up with Mistwalkers if allowed, I won't have friends but maybe having others in the guild that are of max level will motivate me more. Hopefully a few people will reroll too so I have people in my range.

When RoK release nears, I have a feeling a LARGE number of people will be starting up or restarting EQ2.

Been playing pretty much non-stop since the DL finished this morning, and having a great time. The quests are typical MMO fair, but the graphics are brilliant, especially that they manage to run so well on an older comp, and the gameplay looks like it has the potential to be a lot more indepth than what WoW offers. The animations aren't that great, but not awful either, all considered, though I have to say I vastly prefer the 'alternative' models to the default ones, which are rather ugly. The loading screens between zones and the zones being divided in the manner they are is kind of annoying, but hardly a huge deal. Mostly just having fun playing something different that looks like it has a lot of potential further into the game.

Only thing I'm not sure about is the stat customizetion options. I've twice been offered a choice between a few different upgrades (Traits, I think they where called?), so far I've just picked the ones that upgrade my intelligence (being a wizard), but I'll have to go read up on it on the official forums, and likewise for the achievements, before I go spending any more points. Is it possible to respec these options later on in the game?

How do achievements work exactly? Are they just along the line of WoW's talent points, a way of specializing your character as you level, or is there more to it?

Basically, yes. Except for the way they are earned, they are very similar to WoW's talents, except a large portion of the Achievements are really crappy and useless.

Hopefully someone here can help me out. I got the e-mail for EQ2 & all the expansions & downloaded that, but foolishly instead of just hitting play, I decided to download all the extra sound packs. I want to get them eventually, but right now its looking like its going to take a while and I'd like to play some before I have to head out & pick up the new Harry Potter book tonight. Is there somewhere that I can change the preferences so I wont start downloading the sound packs again if I close & relaunch the launchpad, or is the launchpad the only place where I can change that?

You can hit the cancel button under the progress bar, then change your download options in the launchpad.

You can also set those extras to download while you play.

Is there anywhere I can get the complete bundle of game/xpacks/adventure packs online, other than directodrive (which seems to have removed any EQ2 products for some reason) or station store (which doesn't offer it)?

Definately interesting in picking this up and making it my new MMO thing for a few months, unless Blizzard announce they're going to be doing something really damn cool with WoW at Blizzcon. But I'm not interested enough to fork out a good $150 or so for the entire thing, which is what it'd add up to if I get it off station store.
