[VG] David Gilbertson video interview

Here's to hoping that this VG thread doesn't end up in the retard rickshaw...

David Gilbertson was interviewed recently (the vid was up four days ago), apparently raid content is still some months away and player cities will not happen until the first or the second expansion. The decision to work on bug fixes and polish first and foremost is a wise one I guess:

Fixed the known ones.

No raid content for awhile = more bleeding at the high end.

I've had fun up to May but these days just logging on a few days a week to do some farming. Have no desire to level an alt (see LOTRO thread BOE comments). With nothing to do at 50 I find it hard to get motivated to finish leveling. EQ is looking pretty good right now for a couple of months.

Sure looks like SOE is dedicated to making one, considering they've already been discussing the expansions a little bit...and Smedley has been in interviews. They have roughly 90k subscribers and SOE seems to be committed to having Vanguard be a money maker.

Expansions are an excellent way to increase subscribers by getting a new fresh SKU on the shelves, buzz about the game, and so on. I'd be shocked if they don't do some sort of expansion by the holidays next year. Hell, VG never even made it to the shelves at Future Shop here, they'd be crazy not to get it on over the holidays again.
