Same. The concept is awesome, the ships are awesome, the economy system is awesome, the gameplay sucks nuts. I've really tried to enjoy it each time i've started but always ended up feeling no reason to log in.

Even if the gameplay didn't suck, I do not approve of the way progression works. A clueless newbie who buys his skill books, always has one training, and only logs in to select a new skill to train will progress at the same rate as the guy who plays 12 hours a day. Sure he'll come out with more money and assets for his play time.. but he's still at the same point of progress the brain-dead guy is.

I just resubscribed even though that first paragraph really sums up my opinions on it. It's an amazing game that I just don't enjoy playing. I pay $15 a month for a fancy progress quest.

If Eve online can keep me occupied for a few hours a day I'm content.

Kill me now but I am currently really enjoying WURM Online !!

It's really hard to describe but it gives you a MASSIVE tiled world with full ability to terraform and shape every inch of every tile... at the moment, my hardy group of fellow villagers have made a few sheds to stash our shit in, worked up a couple of fields to plant seeds we found and grow them to maturity and, hopefully, profit, and we are now working on the mother of all tunnel systems to try to pin down some fucking iron ore.

Due to something I'd always hoped to see, ie a motherfucking server crash with no backup LAWL on an MMO, they are now starting a brand new world where everyone starts at shit-all skill (ie equal footing for newcomers like me). Thankfully, they are now backing up properly and all should be in order ;P

Don't get me wrong, it's a niche game for none but the hardcore timewaster but the graphics are frigging awesome (for it's type) and it has a plethora of useful crafting abilities that will actually be valued....(because they take a catass amount of time to level).

Maybe I'm not selling it well but I am certainly having fun and it's pocket change to play...or free if you don't mind skills capped at 20 out of 100.

Failing that, have a wank 18 hours a day...good for the testosterone.

M&M

I got a free copy of Might and Magic: Dark Messiah with my new video card and it is pleasantly occupying some free time.

I've lost the motivation to level *yet another* character to 70 in WoW so I'm not logging in but once every three days to make shadowcloth so I can get my lock's robes finished. I may just pool all my alts money and buy the shit - it's not like I need or want flying mounts for all my alts.

Every MMO out there is Level 1-X with classes and races. Skills are lined up on the bottom of your screen in little boxes with the same content. AI is not different, game play is not different.
Could not agree more with the above.

Autoattack needs to not be in any future game. I hate it. "Auto?" Why the hell is the game playing for me? I'm paying for that? Luckily the genre is seemingly phasing it out. Autoattack is more like a big dot in newer titles. Just remove it.

More twitch is sorely needed. It's pretty much the only real way to separate the skilled from the gimps, and it adds a lot of fun. Mashing the fireball key over and over is not skill. Button mashing many cooldowns is not skill, and can be even worse because you're looking at icons instead of the battle.

AI is the same in every game and extremely stupid.

Personally, I'm dying to play a realistic space sim with star trek-like physics and travel. Planets you can land on and that are scaled accurately, no invisible walls, no fucking gay ass "jump gates," etc. Then include the sandbox nature of EVE.

I'm on day 7 of the EVE free trial. My main complaint is how "mushy" the game feels. Just getting something selected to lock on to is a pain in the ass.

The reason EvE is 'point and click' to move is in order to have stats for agility etc worked into the flight model. If everyone could fly around according to their twitch skill, then the various navigation skills etc would be harder for them to factor in.

That said, when I first played it I was hugely disappointed to find this out but you get used to it and there IS actually skill involved in manually keeping a particular orbit. Bored to tears of it now though, again. I both love it and hate it, hence why I'm playing the above game instead of EvE right now

My WoW account is still active, but I play less and less all the time.

I still enjoy raping people in Savage (free to DL and play now), and I'm waiting for Savage 2 and Tabula Rasa betas.

Nothing else really grabs me atm.

The only MMO I am subscribed to at the moment is EQ2. I only log in about twice a week to raid with buddies and wait for the new content for EQ1 nostalgia purposes.

I am playing Battlefield 2142 and UT2004 like a mad man however. I am honing my already mad skillz in BF2142. I am training to start competition play in BF2142. I tried to go back to BF2 but the snipers are entrenched on every server and you can hardly move before getting fragged. Those BF2 guys are god-like after all these years.

I will buy and play every MMO coming out if only to check it out, with the exception of Gods and Heroes as the scouting reports have not been good on it. Tabula Rasa is at the top of my list in hype. I hope Lord British does not fuck it up.

For me, "auto-attack" is so 1990's. Can't do it anymore for extended periods. It does not allow me to show off my Nerd gaming superiority enough.

Edit: If the guys from EA/DICE read this board, please make a MMO! That would make me quit real life and go live in my Mother's basement so I could play.
