| If they made AC with good graphics, intentionally put in all the physics they found by accident that made pvp so good, and got rid of cheats/bots, I'm pretty sure it would be so amazing that the world as we know it would come to an end. |

| I quit them all (still skill training in eve), and took up golf for the summer. It sucks up a good amount of time, enhances your career and gets you in the sun. It is a win, win, win. |

| Got rid of WoW. Alpha'd LOTRO. Beta'd LOTRO. Tried EQ2 twice and uninstalled. Played EQ1 till '03ish. Played SWG for ~6 months from release. *shrug* I'm farting around with EVE right now. Nowhere near the 'full-time' I used to game with though...I'm actually spending more time on single-player PC and WII games. I'm kinda burnt out of MMOs. I doubt I'll do much before betas of WAR and/or AoC. |

| We're playing VG until at least my subscription runs out in June. After that, who knows? My man is reminiscing about Eve and EQ2. I have been feeling a tinge of regret that we stopped playing WoW back in December '06, as much as I hated the consumables and herb farming I did enjoy the BWL+ raiding. Learning boss fights was probably the most fun (and painfully expensive) time I've had in an MMO. I'm not confident VG is going to deliver in this area except maybe to guilds full of 24/7 players, given the no-instances stance. I think the best plan for us is to get prepped to raid again in the fall/winter in some game, just not sure which one yet. |

+1 Internets | Vanguard, despite it's problems, is still the only game I currently enjoy playing when I want to play something, however, I am looking forward to spending some time in Hellgate which last I heard was set for release sometime in July. I did have a few hours of enjoyment playing Titan Quest with my daughter last year so I may pick up a couple of copies of the expansion, other than that I'll be spending more time out and about on my speed triple this summer. |

| Good question...I've played it on and off and think it's a fun game, but I don't get the addictiveness part. I've participated in some larger scale PvP with a corporation, and while it's one of the better experiences I've ever had playing an MMO, it's not made any huge impact on me. That is to say, I don't have to go back and play it some more. Maybe it's just that MMOs aren't really anything new and interesting anymore, so they don't have the impact on us that they once might've had?

| I think MMO's still have the impact on us or we wouldn't be here. However I think we're getting tired of the whole fantasy genre. I know I've been playing it just shy of 2 decades from MUDs on through. I took a 1-2 year break from MMOs before getting back into WOW, which I played for almost 2 years exclusively. I think I would be a EVE junky if it was like Wing Commander or X-Wing. But I think what we need is a more twitchy MMO where it isn't point and click autoattacks and skills. I think we're getting to a point where graphics are getting better and better but the gameplay is static. Every MMO out there is Level 1-X with classes and races. Skills are lined up on the bottom of your screen in little boxes with the same content. AI is not different, game play is not different. TR is a game I'm really looking forward to and I'm pissed off I'm not in BETA. The fact that you can hide behind shit, the UI is clean and it appears to be somewhat twitchy has me excited. AoC has me excited because it might have a style of action RPG to it. No more autoattacking. WHO has me excited a little bit because it's what WOW should of been if it comes out the way it's been touted as a heavy PVP game. We'll see though, I don't have my hopes up. |

| Im gonna check into EvE, while space type games have never been my type of game to play, my friend was the same way and is addicted to it. But messing around on the helbreath and aeRO takes up my time just as good as WoW did, and the pvp in helbreath seems like itll be really fun once i get leveled up with everyone else.

I do play it as my secondary MMO in addition to WoW (All my factions in wow are grinded up to exalted except consortium and maghar). But if you like theorycrafting, there is plenty of that to go around, just "learning" everything and anything about the game takes a long time, and I don't mean skill learning, I mean the actual human process that goes along with transforming from a newbie to a non-newb. If you pvp "alot" it could serve you as a "primary game" and something you spend all your time in. If you pvp more casually, the time committment goes down significantly and some days I'll only log in for 2 minutes to set new skill(s) to train. After you play, the drama threads and such make alot more sense too, so you can spend lots of time reading things like the BoB vs Everyone thread, and actually understand what people are talking about. I've never had a pvp combat where I wasn't 100% engaged and shaky and nervous. It's radically different from the WoW system where I've played so many arena matches and bgs that the entire thing just puts me on auto-pilot, where I don't actually care if I die, or if we win/lose. That's what keeps me logging in. Just the other day I took my drake up against 2 hyperion w/ blasters camping a low sec gate, and I was literally shaking with adrenaline/sweating afterwards. I haven't had that kind of experience since I played on Sullon Zek in EQ, and that's why I think it's a great game. | |
