This is made by funcom correct? I won't be burned twice, it sounded interesting but count me out of this game and hopefully others have learned their lesson.

Fuck it. They can have my money. It sounds like a cool story. AoC wasn't a piece of shit to me. I would've leveled all the way if I didn't hate those last 10 levels before maxing out.

if this wasnt made by funcom id be super excited. since conan failed in execution to a great degree im not going to get my hopes up. That being said the concept is HOT, the concept art is HOT, the "bringing it to pc and 360" reeks of epic fail.

I trust Ragnar and loved the other RPGs he was in charge of. Skill based Cthulu-esque MMO world? I'm buying it. AoC was pretty good despite the massive flaws, so let's hope they learn with this one.

They sure know how to make a trailer. That was great.

I am excited for the game, AoC flopped solely because of the lack of polish and time spent on the game. You can see this clearly in how well the first 20 levels are done. If the same amount of time was spent on the remaining game this would be a different conversation.

The concept alone is worth the $50 to try it out. I am tired of levels and look forward to more skill based games.

It isn't Shadowrun, but it'll do for now.

doesn't really sound very MMOish from the interview, and while the CGI is pretty doesn't really show any ingame footage. Sounds interesting though, whatevers Conan's faults it was fun for a month.

The weird thing about Funcom is AO was a decently-designed game let down by technical problems while AoC was (mostly) technically okay but with a shitty, shitty design.

I supposed that means TSW has a one in four chance of not being terrible, at least.

I haven't seen a new MMO that interested me in ages, but The Secret World actually looks pretty cool. The setting/art seems awesome and what has been revealed about the game mechanics is intriguing.

I can't really muster up the will to participate in any ARG, but I'll keep my eye on this.

Edit: Eurogamer preview - Didn't see it linked in the thread already, though I don't know if it contains any new info.

That interview sounded awesome until the console part. Game sounds good... but I doubt they'll deliver.

considering how long it took to release AoC and how unfinished it was, I doubt we see this game released before that maya calendar date, 3 years of hypebuilding to go, maybe they release it for the next gen xbox ?

I guarantee that it is going to be heavily instanced and loading zoned. They need to realize that focusing this much on graphics is great for solo games, but for mmo's it's always the downfall.

It shouldn't. Any MMO producer that has released a game previously must have a code base they can draw from, and tools. If it takes more than say 2 years to release the next game the company has basically acknowledged that the previous code was horribly flawed or they got a dumb ass group of programmers who like to rewrite things their way. Either way it signifies that the company has massive issues with the way they approach coding.

I can understand the time required for a company releasing the very first game. But you got to think ahead 3+ years for an established company if I was a director I would be going wtf.

Erm anyways game sounds interesting !

Am i the only one who does not like waiting on a game from the alpha stage on? I even give MMOS usually a year to mature so thats like 2013 for me :P
