+3 Internets | OK so thanks to all the faction help I've decided to not play a necro after all, and have settled on a Fury. My question now is, from anyone who has experience, is the Fae 5% in combat movement speed bonus very effective for soloing? Would I be better off going Troll for the vastly superior starting Stamina (25 points difference. Thats significant even at high levels I'd assume)? Thanks again. |

| So true. Glide alone was worth rerolling some older chars. You'll get so used to jumping off high cliffs and other places if ya go back to other chars, you'll kick yourself when ya accidentally die from falling damage. :P

So 20% sow +5% fae bonus +jboots (at lvl 42) = 35% speed, aka slightly better than a 3,5 plat mount. All of this without spending any AA to increase running speed (which furies have in the EoF tree). EDIT: lowbie Faes get to do a quest for "silvani form", it's an illusion that makes you look like a little butterfly and gives you another 5% movement bonus that stacks on top of those listed above, but when using it, you won't be able to use any spells/combat arts. Good for traveling and you can hide your illusion forms anyway. Last edited by Miele : 05-09-2007 at 08:20 AM.

+3 Internets | So the concensus is Fae for glide then? The Troll's +sta wont impact my play (group/raid/solo) enough? That seems hilarious to me... they give a race a passive trait that is worth sacrificing 25 STA for. wru balance. |

All I know is that the classes I have chosen (Conjurer, Necro, Fury and Monk) can solo. They might not be taking down 3 up red cons, but they can still churn out the exp when needed. Glide as a racial trait is just too much fun to me to give up. I only hope the Sarnaks have something equally as fun. You would also be suprised how much the perma safe fall helps, when you keep dying due to falling off the climable walls/trees. I do think the falling damage in EQ2 is a bit on the heavy handed side, but it makes being a Fae more fun.

| You can also get Fae Fall if you raid Emerald Halls. Most of the Fae inside have a chance at dropping a Fae Wing Cloak which gives anybody Fae Fall. It is pretty awesome ![]()

+1 Internets | I went out and bought all the expansions and it is pretty funny: while surfing for class info during patch, FoH keeps on coming up 3rd or 4th on Google for EQ2 info. And sure enough, this thread actually has a lot of useful info in it for people starting/restarting. Its weird, LOTRO captured a lot of people's imagination at the start, but I get the feeling that there is a very real EQ2 resurgance underway. See you all on AB ![]() |
