| Vhalen, a game deisgner, has basicaly confirmed it from what I ahve read. that was made for the EQ2 pnp game I believe before even Desert of Flames. Since Ro is in the map it seems pretty accurate. Jait, The other EQ2 Lore guy on these boards.

| Still, EQ2 Lore is very under-appreciated.

| I will probably start up Mistwalkers again, see how it goes. If it doesn't work out in a month or 2 (cause then i will be going to be getting married and then headed to Europe for 3 weeks) I will roll over on AB.

| Thinking of firing up EQ2 for when Neriak goes live. I have the basic box and DoF. I'm gonna start a Necromancer and a Fury. The Fury is gonna be an Arsai, so I have to wait. Until then, for the necro, I am torn between Gnome and Ogre. Are the Gnome racial stealth and threat reduction skills worth the loss in HP from the Ogre? Are there any faction differences between the two (ie. The Gnome necro being allowed in Kelethin, while the Ogre is not?) Thanks guys. |

| No. Kelethin is more... neutral. Good races cannot go into Freeport and evil can't go into Qeynos. Kelethin is more forgiving. I think evils can walk around Kelethin but they can't get quests or vendors there.. I might be wrong on that.

If Neriak ends up being Neutral like kelethin I'll just start a normal Fae Fury... I just wanna be sure I can go there which is why I'd wait for Arsai. | |

| Plugged In Like Neo | If you're willing to give it another go I'll try again on Perma - however the population there just sucks compared to AB. Honestly, we're not going to get anywhere unless we actually recruit people who aren't from these forums, and there isn't much to recruit from on Permafrost. =/ Besides, you're going to head back to WoW or LotRO after a month MAX anyway =P |

| Actually it's not entirely true. Factions play a large role, just not as large as EQ1, and SoV really took it to another level. Exiles can build enough faction to walk past guards, even use some services, but some NPCs will still pull the old EQ1 "I wont talk to you". Without faction, there's 70-75 guards at the entrances to lay the smack down if you're not invis/sneaking. In KoS there's tons of factions that play into the storyline. In order to do your epic weapon quest you have to befriend some Marr faction (Cant remember the name offhand). There's also an Aviak faction that makes travel/life lots easier if you keep it built, as well as the Faerie like creatures, many of whom hang around the portal as you travel into Barren Sky. There's also the Werewolves (Lyrech?) that are allied against Mayong Mistmoore, you can build faction with them naturally by doing content. Or you can kill them to build up faction with Mistmoore. But definitely, there needs to be rewards for all sides involved, and as of yet, we haven't seen it ala Velious. On the PvP server faction is a HUGE deal, because it's how you buy your special items/weapons/armor (many of which is close to being the best t7 gear in game). It just needs to carry over a bit more to PvE imo. |
