Trans: Yes.

Trans: Less.

Trans: I get to be Chief Creative Officer again while Smed gets someone with actual management skills and up-to-date market knowledge to run what used to be Sigil.

Trans: I'm still bitter about Luclin.

Trans: Who knew hiring more artists than coders or managers would be a bad idea?

Obligatory WoW slam

Trans: Whoa, looks like people won't spend two grand on a new PC to play Vanguard after all.

Trans: We have no raid content and none planned. The 20/60/20 thing was a lie to sell the game to the FoH crowd.

Trans: Fuck, they really didn't want another EQ. I was wrong about that as well.

Trans: Vanguard is just like old EQ, except it's not!

Wow slam no.2

Trans: I cannot believe I just got curbstomped by motherfucking Turbine.

Trans: We are targeting VG at end-game raiders, even though we don't actually have an end-game. Hurr.

Trans: Whoa, there is a market outside North America after all? Who knew?

Trans: I'm not owning up to this.

Trans: I think people are going to want to play a year-old MMOG with bad word-of-mouth around about the time when AoC & WAR launch.

Trans: We're not dead in the water! We're not! Look at all this potential (just keep paying subscriptions for half a decade while we patch it in).

Trans: Smed owns me.

Trans: I still have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about, and haven't figured out the real reasons why Vanguard is a flop of cataclysmic proportions.

thank you for Translateing his long ass Post, speak 6 languages didnt even Understand it.

I wouldn't be surprised to see their Subs dropping below 8 mil soon and probably 7 or so by the end of the year, maybe 6.

I don't hate WoW either, I love the fact there are so many like minded gamers out there. It's a great social aspect to connect on, but it's served its purpose though and I foresee many moving on.

Maybe I'm way off (I already know I'm way off topic) but that's just the feeling you get playing WoW these days from others.
Clearly you and your friends are an exact representation of all the many players spread across realms and countries.

Itzena, I'd like to take issue with your post: it's "durr" not "hurr". Other than that, spot on.

I feel like a complete jerk for laughing at Itzena's translation (and Aleksei's reply). But, damnit, it's funny 'cause it's true.

On a more somber note, it really does make me sad that Brad went off on his own to create 'The Game' only to be forced back into employment by SoE. It's like the ultimate downer of a story.

Sad? More like the most hilarious irony ever. This just further shows that Brad is an untalented conniving hack who will do anything and everything to save his own ass at the cost of anyone else's. After this deal goes down, he should just crawl up in a hole somewhere with his cars and motorcycles and shut the fuck up.

Couple items now that I read the whole thing:

Quote:
If we are going to change our marketing message effectively - down to both a word of mouth and a formal marketing campaign targeting these people clearly needs to launched.
You have got to be fucking KIDDING me Brad ? Are you INSANE ? The game sucks okay ? Marketing has nothing to do with it. How in the name of sweet baby Jesus you can STILL be focused on marketing as a CORE issue your game faces is a mystery to me. YOU ARE OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY !!! You DONT want to market your product to ANYONE. Can you hear me ?

Quote:
The game is simply not CPU bound, nor just graphics card bound, but rather mostly bound by the data that it needs to constantly move from the CPU to main memory to the graphics card, and then all the way back again. It’s all about the various bus speeds and caches – moving data around efficiently is arguably more important than processing that data on the CPU or GPU.
Amen. You are 100% correct here. (how you manage to hit the bullseye here but miss it elsewhere is troubling). How many time so you see the epeeners spew off all their system stats ? Ever so proud. Ton's of memory, multiple processors, stuff stolen from Big blue etc. Never ONCE do they mention buss speeds, NEVER. It's the most important part of any system, and 90% or more of the people spewing off about how fo-shizzle their computers are, DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS. They don't even know where to look for that information. Idiots !

Quote:
In summary, there are arguably a lot of people who by mid to end of this year in the MMOG gamespace for whom Vanguard could potentially be very attractive. What the game needs is a re-launch of sorts, including targeted marketing campaigns, an all-around successful move by gamers to the next generation of hardware, continued good word of mouth ‘viral’ marketing by those who are already playing, enjoying, and re-subscribing.
What the game needs is some crack leadership, some clear vision and a strong hand at the helm, of which you apparently are not capable of (I guess hiring an office manager just wasn't cost effective amirite ?). The game needs the bugs squashed, the performance increased 10 fold, the content increased 100 fold, and someone needs to figure out how to make the game FUN.

It's come a LONG way from where it was in the late stages of beta, granted, but it's got a LONG, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way to go before you start talking about relaunches and targeted marketing.

If I were you Brad, I would be up to my eyeballs and in anyone and everyones face and figure out how to fix the game, but more importantly, how to fix SIGIL. SIGIL is the problem, not Vanguard.

For fuck sakes.... I'll say the same thing to Brad (if he's reading) that I say to my team at work:

"SO, you didn't have enough time to do it right the first time, but there's always time to do it twice???"

WTF - you KNEW it was a piece of shit that shouldn't have been released, and claimed "my hands were tied". So instead of holding out, you gave in... and the game launched.

Now that SOE "knows" how many people might be interested, and they are using SUBSCRIBER MONEY to throw the game a lifeline while they figure out how to have a do-over? Talking about a fucking relaunch 60 days after the actual launch?

This post from Brad should be the final nail in the coffin - if anyone believes anything he says ever again, it's their own fault.
