| Gets boring quick, i played beta .. a mage and bored by level 10 i think. Warrior seemed to be the most fun, but then I only got to around 20 or something. I think max level is somewhere in the neighbourhood of like 75. Without membership you can't use any items better than, I think yellow. I forget the whole armor scheme.. best gear is rainbow, then purple.. green/blue mixxed in there somewhere.. They charge, $5 per character.. each account has 1 character. The actually started charging during beta.. just after I had stopped playing.

| Its interesting, and free is just fine. Of course if you dont get the 4.99$ a month thing you cant get the purples and yellows that really help later on. The names are hilarious tho. Luminous Pimp Hand Gloves of the Happy Unicorn, is the kind of shit your gonna see. Its like a cheap diablo basically. Good for a few hours amusement, but not really good for to long =x |

| Seeing as how I just loaded up Diablo AND Diablo 2 on my fresh new Vista install, I'm going to thank you for the link and check it out. Will post my own worthless impressions later. Thanks Cuppy! P.S. I'm enjoying your Blog...but I liked it that the old style had more pics... ![]() P.P.S. Motherfucker! Could they make a more annoying and convoluted login system? Jesus fucking christ. | I tried it out last night, and imo it's only worth playing if you pay. Yellows are really easy to come by (King's Coins from quests, common drop from "Hero" nameds) and significantly better than the relatively rare blue drops that are the best you can use on a free account. Purples are at easily twice as good. It's just not much fun when most every boss you kill drops stuff you can't use because of not being a member. You also can't use the stackable health potions or the bank, which makes the smallish inventory a pain in the ass. Admittedly though, I was able to complete the entire first section of dungeons/sub-dungeons as a warrior just using the non-member items. The AI is fairly easy to exploit by killing a few and running away. The bigger problem with the game is that there are relatively few skills to train, and unlike D2's skill tree it can be 30 or so levels before you're allowed to upgrade something again. You can train any skill regardless of which 'class' you start as, too. As far as I could tell the only difference between classes was starting stats (non-issue) and how much hp per endurance / mana per intelligence you get. Items aren't restricted by class, or even stats either, just level. Last edited by Vorph : 04-02-2007 at 03:07 PM. |

| played a war to 31 don't take long to level but after 3 days of press left mouse and space bar once in a while it got boring as a war all you needed to do with get the resist spells and use them when you got to caster packs. I was hoping the group dungeon would offer more of a challenge but was able to solo the place just fine with the same action of holding left mouse button but i had to press space bar a bit more often to drink pots. It is good for a evening entertainment bit that is about it |

| Bumping this old thread because the game was just released in retail stores today. The game is still free to create an account and play. $5 a month for special membership access benifits, which allows you to equip the purple, gold, rainbow items. More bank slots, 15% exp, gold boost. Anyone can equip green, blue and yellow tier items. The retail copy of the game costs $20 and gives you 6 months of membership access plus a loot gnome for the price of 4 months of access. The gnome auto loots gold and can melt green and regular items on the fly. I think it has a chance to create new items. It also comes with a full set of NCSoft trial codes. 14 day L2 (meh never cared for the game) 14 day GuildWars w/ all expansions enabled (definitely worth playing for a while) 14 Day Coh/Cov, its a fun game to play for a while. Fun fast paced arcade style game play. With PhysX support in the NVidia beta drivers for 8xxx/9xxx cards it would be cool to check it out for that too. 7 day Tabula Rasa trial (it was ok, 7 days should be plenty) Dungeon Runners is an ok hack/slash loot piņata game .With all the trial codes I think its worth it if you have never played the games before. It could be a good month or two worth of MMO playing. Or good for some breaks from other games. |
