I just went back and reviewed a link that was posted in this thread and found a second one by the same Slyindril here. No lie, you could go back over a year ago and this SAME post could be found in VG beta. They are STILL arguing about the same thing! Death Penalty, Experience, Maps -- all being "wow-ified" and they use that expression to insult and intimidate everyone.

It's the same no substance argument, different year! There has been no end to this fight and therein lies their problem. If you ask me, something is up with this person and his ilk. Who the HELL argues the same ignorant points for over a year without having some vested interest? As a player, he has NO interest because as a player, I gave up and walked away. Yet this guy is still in there yapping the same passe drivel ad nauseum.

Frankly, if he was sooooo right, they would have had more customers by now, glitches and all. Despite their fond, albeit excruciatingly vague, memories of Everquest, I seem to recall glitches in Everquest that would make Vanguard look like the land of milk and honey.

I'm not kidding when I say I can pull out quotes from VG beta that mimic those links, almost verbatim. So what's really going on?

Never underestimate people's desire to be right, at all costs and regardless of consequences. Its completely illogical but fairly common, people tend to dig their heels in and go down in flames rather than change course and admit they were wrong.

You can explain a lot of President Bush's actions in this context, and one would hope someone at that level would know better ... and unfortunately rather than ruining a game or clogging up a messageboard, he's running a world power!

Interesting. That's part of Sigil's problem right there. Giving titles to people who trashed their devs unjustly.

I was toying with the idea that his motive was something else, but if you're telling me he likes to chase vampires in his spare time, that about explains it. Maybe the real question then is, why does Sigil put up with it?

To the casual reader who doesn't know what it is, maybe a little. To anyone else, no more than any random poster.

There are several special groups over there on SV, and a lot of them freely express discontent with the game. Even some of the mods with flashing red names aren't afraid to acknowledge the game sucks.

Funny thing is other people say the same thing about this board. Hell i posted a link from this board once on a football forum and one guy replied, why the fuck you post on that board, its full of retards. I guess it works both ways? i dunno.

They've gotten to the point that they're bashing people with technical difficulties (who apparently posted on the SOE tech board first, with no luck). I'm sorry to say, but those forums have little or nothing of use anymore. At least they're not representative of those playing the game. (at least that's what I've seen in my several trials)
