One game i did find alot of fun say the first 15 or so levels was City of Heroes, but after 2 weeks, you never want to play again.

All i know is after 2 months all of my friends that were playing Vanguard are still playing but 1 person. He is a officer in a Everquest guild, and i think he feels obligated to keep raiding.

Sure, knock yourself out. Though I can't imagine there being anywhere near the number of bugs in WOW atm (2 years post-release), as there is in VG now. There are better things to bitch about with WoW though, to be perfectly honest, instead of bugs.

Take the WoW raiding thread for example. There are a lot of people that are unhappy with the itemization to the point many don't want to raid, NPC AE/Cleave screwing over melee DPS, fast trash respawn and other concerns. Not to mention raid-size complaints. If people only read the VG threads, I can see those people thinking that no one criticizes WoW, but that just isn't the reality of the situation on the forums (though that claim had been made several times by the Vanbois). It is interesting to note that there is something akin to a valid discussion over there though for the most part, and the WoW fans aren't on a warpath to defend WoW. WoW can either stand on it's own, or it can't. /shrug.

And there have been tons of critical posts on WoW over the years...from the TM/SS/BG argument, lack of raid content, early T1/T2 item complaints, raid bugs, hardware problems...and more. But none of them have ever turned into the idiocy that the VG threads have devolved into. Maybe it is because for all the faults of the WoW community, it is nowhere nearly as fanatical and blind as many are in the VG community. I know I played WoW for two years and raided quite a bit, yet I never defended WoW 'to the death' like many VG players do, for what is arguably a game that was worse at release. I'm not saying you are or aren't one of those people, but there is simply a lot of people that leap to VG's defense at the first sight of any criticism.

Just 6 level 50s on Targonor right now. I've been farming named etc to build up some cash / give Crafters some high level blues for decons.

1. Bard
2. Bard
3. Blood Mage
4. Dread Knight
5. Cleric
6. Necromancer

In order of first to hit 50 :|

Still waiting on more to level 50 before I can hit content since the first 5 are the only ones I regularly group with and one of them became obessessed with crafting.

I think its just a natural human reaction to defend something you like from the shit its getting.

As to WoW community, you cant really compare the two. Both the shit slinging and the fanboyism are both masked by just the sheer number of posters here and on other boards. Im sure the ratio is probably the same of the fan vs hater on message boards concerning WoW. and im sure many, many people would defend WoW to the death. You can even see it here on this board to an extent.

Yeah but my gripe is that do you see the same 4-5 persons not even playing WoW polluting every WoW thread with negative comment on the WoW boards?

I'm not even reading the WoW threads because... I'm not even playing the game anymore. Whereas there's a ton of people with innate hate for VG or SoE or Brad or whatever that keep lurking in each and every VG threads since beta and are still not leaving them.

I think the main issue is that those people actually wanted to play VG. And it's not even as bad as you and kckivx claim it is.. at least not anymore. I see more posts of this nature than I do of the ones you are addressing, by far. You also are talking about posts that mainly resided in threads specifically designed to address that issue. A post called 'Why nerd rage?' is going to get a lot of responses from people who tend to post like you describe. That was the entire point of the thread. I bet if you made a 'I quit WoW and it sucks' thread, you wouldn't have a slew of WoW players coming in and telling you that they are still playing. Try that with a VG thread and see how many come inform you that they are still playing and 'having fun'.
