Instead of making well thought out arguements, he decides to compensate with pure flood of arguements. This is basically a forum version of harassment.

Every time a dev comes here to try and be constructive and read opinions, he is instead going to get puked on by a deluge of random shit. When its over, and the developer steps back and looks and what he's created, they certainly have to wonder why the fuck should they bother? The small amount of constructive criticism just gets drowned under heaps of yanay spearheaded by a few people that potential customers are going to look at and garner doubts about the game- even though the realistic thing is you are going to have things about any MMO that will suck during beta. Its a simple damn fact of life. People should point it out, but the endless bickering over how much it sucks or if it will be fixed? That cant be beneficial to a developer.

I really support the idea of a more sterile area for devs. Make it so that you can pose questions, praise, or concern, but just make it simple to maintain. Forum warrioring or bickering in that folder leads to a ban from posting in it, attention whoring and other such look at me things mean ban. If people want to discuss what they think of the game, let them do it in mmo.

One of the main reasons ive come to this forum and stayed here is because of people like brad and nino having the nuts to post here. I enjoy the fact that ive seen them interact with people, and even sent/recieved some pm's from devs. That makes a game much more real to me and is definately the reason i paid for and tried vanguard. I wouldnt of bothered without that direct contact. People like Utnayen chasing the devs off really is a downer for me. Theres still a couple left outside of vanguard that post unless im mistaken, and i hope this board can manage to not chase them off either.

I'm going to have to agree with this man. I've been a jerk in the past but there's a line that you cross and in my opinion it was crossed. I'm not really going to get involved in any "ban Ut" crusade or anything, but he needs to settle the hell down and realize that he's(hopefully?) a grown man being pretty childish. The fact that he's in EJ is just dumbfounding considering the quality of posters the guild has on this and other forums.

Fixed for ya -- Let's keep this on track. This is only a Vanguard-McQuade problem. Yes, Utnayan crossed the line with Smed a couple of times, but for the most part, Smedley is able to have productive/insightful communications on the board. Gallenite certainly has no problems, and really is the darling-developer of the board, with Nino being the protege if you will. Schilling is able to generate good discussion. As pointed out above, there are plenty of *productive* threads on front page right now (Warhammer, LOTRO, EVE), some even Vanguard-based.

This is simply a McQuade/Vanguard/Utnayan problem, and when McQuade comes shovelling his marketing fluff, he deserves it. Let's not create a whole separate "dev forum" just because ONE developer, his game and his business practices have brought out a lot of ire from the MMORPG community.

Thats why I suggested the stringent use of temp bans. 3 days to a week based on severity. Repeated offenses buys a perma ban at the discretion of the mods. Sane people will put serious consideration into how they present thier points. Lunatics will filter themselves out over time.

I pretty much just come here for the movie/book sections and the odd chance that something in screenshots is funny. Good discussions seem too far and few between for my liking in the MMO section. I honestly dont even care about people like Ut/Neric anymore I stopped reading their shit months ago. Its the swarms of "IBTR!" faggots and the dumb shits that seem to think every time they post its comedy gold that make reading some of these threads so damn painful.

I dont mind sarcasm or even insults but there is a time and place for both and most dont seem to get that. When people are trying to have legit discussions they dont want to sift through endless 1 liners and/or flames to find the good stuff. It's pretty shitty to take your pathetic personal crusade against someone you've never met to the point where you break a promise and compromise someone's real life livelihood. At the end of the day, it's just a game. No one is putting a gun to Ut's or anyone's head to buy it and play it. Getting that worked up over something that you can choose to not play is weak and truly pathetic.

Perhaps Ut should strongly consider never posting here again. Were I him, I would be incredibly embarrassed by my own actions.

The problem I have is where were these Captain Americas when AC2 came out? Where were they when Ryzome came out? Or any of the other failed mmorpgs in the past few years.... Where were they when any of the other unfinished mediocre to god awful single player PC games that I purchased came out in the past few years?

Where were they when I had a daily 45 min wait to log onto WoW? Where were they when my guild had their dicks in hand waiting to raid but couldnt for months because of the lock out bug?

I would be OK with all this shit if UT or any of the other mouth breathers on here actually stood up for any of the above. But the proof is in the pudding as they say. And this is the ultimate proof that this is nothing but a personal vendetta based on their lives being wasted in EQ and now they regret it.
