| One of the biggest things I hated about WoW was the quest stuff. I don't mind doing tasks but I think Quests should be huge and give you a good item that you actually need. Sure some WoW quests did that but for the most part you only did them for the money and exp... that's not a real quest to me. *shrugs* When I send my D&D crew on a quest it is long and has many dangers but it is also very rewarding. Not go kill 20 bats and rats and come back for 5c.

| Well the other option is to grind mobs for even less money and a far slower exp rate. Blizz really does need to spruce up their quests...most MMOs do, actually.

I just always thought that quests should actually mean something. *shrugs*

| Camerous - honest question: If WoW had called its bread & butter 'kill x splats' quests something like 'missions' or 'tasks' and saved the word 'quests' for the bigger, multi-stage quest lines...would it have made you happier? |

| I know how dumb this will sound but yes hehe It just has always bothered me for some weird reason. Just one of those things I guess.

| EQ had the same shit, turn in bonechips = quest. Lego pads = quest. And about a million more. It's all semantics really. Just call them tasks or jobs in your head. Their real purpose was to give a little bonus to grinding on shit instead of just nonstop grinding on shit that was common in previous games.

+1 Internets | Kill tasks are fine...It's the ''Gather X amount of Y from Z mob'' that pisses me off. Every time I do this type of questing, the last damn item never seems to be dropping and the whole thing turns into a timesink(...Sometimes it just gets so annoying, I just abandon the quest. |

| I think EQ2 quest chains develop for EoF expansion are a step in the right direction, with variety objectives and some worthwhile rewards. Also the whole achievement (AA) system, the main reward is the AA experience. It's an interesting twist, you essentially quest not for regular XP (which is plentiful and easy to grind) but for the AA xp. It's easy to grind to level 70 but to get those 100 AA takes loads of questing and name hunting. Think WoW's talent points you dont get automatically with levels but mostly for quests and named hunting. |
