+2 Internets | I'd just as well give out exact percentages, but there are those who argue against that; and I do not have all of the details as to why this would ever be a 'bad' thing. I guess if someone saw that a minor ability received a 50% reduction it could look drastic. When in reality, it went from +10 pts to +5 or something almost irrelevant.

| This shit reminds me of one of the Everquest Monster Mission days. I went to sleep in guild hall with 4 aa's banked, I woke up with 28. Friend of mines and his girlfriend took shifts on doing monster missions all night. Wasnt really an exploit, but you could solo them by suicide running. Musta gained about 100 aa's doing that before they fixed it. lol |

I created a list a few weeks prior to launch of particle effects that I felt we needed to better relay what is happening to the player. Those particles have been completed, and I spent the better part of last week swapping these in. For instance, the judgement line should be showing a glowing scale of justice over the caster's head with related effects eminating from the scale trays. It looks pretty cool. Again, many of the changes are very minor. Animation changes to war cries is probably the largest change in regards to animations. I will find out WHY the particle effect packages did not get pushed and find out when we will get it to the live servers.

+2 Internets | General Update as a quick general update: As with all things on message boards, much of the percevied issues are hyperbole or exaggerations. There are several concerns raised and they are being addressed as we speak and an 'official' post will be made on the affiliate sites. We actually have a very strong ethical policy of being very upfront with our patch notes, and this time around a few notes were accidentally left off. They were not purposefully excluded with the intention to deceive. Changes get sent via email and compiled by a single person. As this patch contains changes over the course of almost an entire month, he missed a few. They will be immediately posted and I will personally find a way that it does not happen again. It isn't the end of the world, just slightly aggravating. The primary change affecting people was made to 'direct damage' abilities. A list of those abilities by class is being drafted and will get posted. Nobody was nerfed 50%, likewise, nobody was bumped 50% either; these are gross exaggerations and speculative hyperbole. This issue has gone unfixed for a solid month now, and waiting this long to finally get it addressed is understandably aggravating. Don't quote me exactly, but these abilities were doing almost 2x the damage they should have because they were adding in auto-attack damage when they weren't supposed to. Some classes have several of these direct damage abilties, other classes have only one. Either way, it is a perceived 'nerf' but it was done under the auspice of maintaining the balance of the game. Anyway, the things I have verified so far: 1. Several art packages did not get pushed properly. Themnwar's Shield - the giant dam outside of Bordinar's Cleft is gone. So are many hand held items and apparently the new spell effects. These will get patched in once we track down what went wrong. 2. Direct damage abilities had part of their damage commponent reduced. We will clarify this later in the afternoon to help players better understand what changed. 3. A quest went in prematurely that did not have proper preconditions which allowed a handful of people to exploit a good deal of experience that is getting removed from these players. The quest NPC has been eliminated, or the quest made inactive for now. 4. There was a problem with a diplomacy quest that allowed players to obtain tier 3 equipment that they should not have access to yet. This has been hot fixed. If I find more I will let you know, until then take a deep breath and relax.

| Another small bug I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere yet, but I just logged in to do a few minutes of diplomacy and the cards that you have used while parleying (sp?) do not grey out once used. Makes diplomacy to be really annoying because it always looks like all your cards are up and ready to be used. Vaxx |

| The patch felt rather small for being supposed to contain that many new effects and artwork. Or maybe I simply have no feeling for time. Edit: Ah, should finish reading page 4 before posting heh |

+23 Internets | Hyperbole? Go play tonight Todd, and get back to us on that. ![]() A l30+ Ranger chain DOT that now does 0 damage (as shown on the tool tip, actually does about 25 total now) that used to do over 1000 is a pretty drastic change, and I doubt it was meant to be part of the direct damage "fix". That's just one example. Something went wrong, and more than the "broken" abilities were changed. Don't Wrinn on this one, see for yourself. |

+166 Internets | Well, people wanted that EverQuest feeling back. Here it is. People wonder why I have to take sedatives in order to avoid shitting all over the EQ nostalgia threads. Anyways... Hope you get it fixed soon. I keep chain crashing when trying to log in. 8( Diplomacy is such a great way to kill time while waiting to get into BG's over in that other game. In fact, I would go so far as to suggest you ditch the rest of the game and just make VanGuard one of, if not to my knowledge, the first MMO CCG. |
