FYI at my last company we hired 16 year old kids to make shill posts on MMORPG.com, and any site with "MMORPG" in it, except this one since I told them to not bother. They had a ~30 post a day quota, and had to make posts 1 week prior to their "shill" post, and the prior posts had to be about off topic, or other games. Then they could resume their posting tirade.

Best part is they got minimum wage, and didn't care.

I'm sure I'm going to get flamed for this and/or called a shill myself, but it's not like Utnayan hasn't called me a shill about thirty million times before.

Why do you all care so much if there's shill posts here? If someone makes a shill post, one of two things will happen. Either you'll find out something about a game you didn't know about (I had no idea this game even existed, personally) or you'll laugh at the shill and move on.

It's reached the point that if anyone makes a post on here that's even slightly positive about a game other than WoW (or maybe Eve, but that's more of a niche thing), they're immediately attacked by ten people screaming OMG SHILL LAWL.

It's gotten out of hand. Shut the fuck up already.

Well for me wasn't the fact he was or wasn't a shill, cause honestly who gives a fuck if he is/isn't, but the fact his post had no real substance to it.

This is not a place for advertisers to hawk their wares, and even developers get bitched at if they provide zero content posts that just promote their own game. Blatant shills should be KOS here in terms of banning. I doubt anyone takes it seriously when one regular poster calls another regular poster a shill, and if anyone does take that seriously they're idiots. Some people love a particular mmo and they enjoy defending it, or attacking it to make it better.

On the plus side, the game does have sweet art. Shame that's probably as good as it gets.

Shills bother me because I come here (for the most part) due to the back-and-forth of debates and arguments about MMOs, their flaws, new ideas, general MMO news, and the Batphone. When shills start utilizing the boards merely as a free source of advertising it detracts from the very foundation and character of the forums and its members. As annoying as they can be, at least fanboys are passionate about their games and can offer discussion and insight into whatever topic may be under discussion.

Besides, as others have said, it's insulting to try and lure us into interest with the game; just send a PR folk or developer to give the low-down on the game. These boards aren't exactly alien to the concept of the presence of those in the industry.

In my mind, you're no better than the losers on the WoW forums who like to post "reported" all over every thread where someone says a bad word.

But then again, these forums essentially turned into WoW general a while ago.
