Fury I found this today: Fury - Ultimate Competitive Online RPG I read a few things that make it interesting to me because of my desire to play a good PvP game. They have spent 12 million on development. The screenshots are actually pretty good. It is a skill based instead of level based. This seems more like a mmofps then a mmorpg, and an interesting concept. Anyone know anything else about this game?

No one gives a flying fuck about an MMOFPS. This game will flat out fail. If all I cared about was teamwork, and leveling up, I can play Battlefield 2/2142. PvP in MMO's is about ruining people's shit, period. Placing your time investments on the line against others is what makes PvP worth playing. If you aren't playing for money in Poker, it's a fucking joke. PvP in MMO's is the same way.

Never liked the BF series either, but I'm definitely interested in MMOFPS in general. More in terms of a sci-fi/cyberpunk/modern fantasy game where the developers realize that standard MMO combat fails utterly when guns are thrown into the mix than something like this game though.

I played it at this last E3. I thought it was pretty fun and innovative, but there was only one map that I played and for only about 30 mins. Im not sure what the lasting power of the game but what I played I really enjoyed. It was like playing a WoW Battleground really, or alliance battles in Guild Wars. I am definitely going to check it out again when/if I have the opportunity.

Precisely the kind of tool whose only interest is disrupting someone else's play anywhere. | |

Risk is where the real action is at. No risk, no fun. Just like poker. Eyes are on the real cash games, where the bets are genuine. In MMO PvP, I force people to bet their time against mine when a conflict arises. You can either bow out or try what you got. As for EQ progression, my play was disrupted by 300+ people in the newbie zones. I forced the bet. I did what was necessary to weed out the weak, and enhance my own experience.

And I'm glad that not everyone is like Lyenae when it comes to that silly attitude toward PvP. PvP is about the competition, putting your skill against another thinking individual instead an AI. The rush from competing in anything from martial arts tourney's, to chess, basketball, whatever comes from the challenge and competition, and that competition wouldn't be made any "more fun" by allowing the winner to kick the loser in the balls cause "omg it adds risk!"
