[SWG] Where's it at now?

So what's going on with SWG now days? Is it still in NGE or did they reverse it? Is the space expansion still in? Has anyone gone back to it lately and started fresh?

I remember there was one some guys were working on, it was supposed to be a pre NGE server too. Not sure if they're still around or even working on it.

Also, I had tried SWG again a few months back. I got to about level 40ish before I got extremely bored. It's a completely different game pretty much.

Looks like that is still in beta mode, pretty cool though, will be nice to try when it goes "live"

Live version is still post-NGE. I heard they were trying to bring a few of the features of the old version back but not a wholesale revamp. Space expansion was still in last I played but that was last yearish.

There is a team working on an emu version of pre-CU/NGE but it's not ready yet.

yeah i think the NGE is still alive and kicking. as for the emulator servers i wouldn't rely on them because it's been about 3-4 years and still nothing concrete. i'd love to play pre-cu swg again, but it's just gone and you have to move on at some point

edit: isn't swgemu.com the one that had it's donation money stolen by the old devs?

During Easter I was visiting some friends in Atlanta. One fellow that was also visiting was playing SWG constantly the entire weekend. I do not think he ever ran into another player whenever I tried to talk to him.

You might want to log in and check your SoE Account Management page. I had 21 day freebie subs for EverQuest and SWG just sitting there for months, and recently logged into EQ to check things out (it sucks, same as the old days, but now with 90% less population). You may have a free 21 days to see how SWG is doing.

Question, not really sure how long eqemu's were in development but why do some games take so f-in long to get a emulated version going, ala SWG.

I would imagine with all the SW freaks out there that one would be up and running by now.
