[WOW] Is the Alliance really worse at PVP?

I can't help but wonder if I am the only one that feels that the alliance side on my server (EU-Ravenholdt) is just truly bad at PVP.

Is this something other people have noticed?

I am levelling yet another class, and my paladin is 50 now. So far, I have been ganked a few times and a lot more often I have been attacked and turned the tables on odds that are just plain unwinnable.

Examples:

A 41 lock and 42 mage attack me at 39. Both die.

3 level 50 hunters attack two paladins I was grouped with. Our levels: 38, 39, 41. They die.

A level 70 hunter takes from the second the boat in BB left the dock until Ratchet to try and kill me at level 49. He is finally chased off by Ratchet guards.

Yes, this is anecdotal. Yes, these are just some examples, but I could tell you plenty more. These are the crass ones.

I don't think the arena system will show a quality difference between TOP horde and alliance teams. But I'm talking about the run-of-the-mill guys here.

So:

Is the alliance generally worse than the horde at world pvp?

At BGs?

Is it just that gankers in general are unskilled mouthbreathers and the "good" PVPers don't run around TM at level 55 looking for cheap kills?

Does the "hardcore" or "gritty" (or whatever you want to call it) image of the horde attract players that are more prone to have the right mindset for PVP?

To sum my experience of wow up fully: Yes, the alliance really is just full of more idiots.

Alliance has more people, therefor more idiots. . .

Easier to shine when you have 20 horde on the server. . when theres 500 alliance and you never see the same one twice in a week, nobodies going to look twice at you good or bad.

My Good friend who normally plays a healer, cant stand pvp.. she normally plays a healer.. i know quite a few others like this too

I'd have to say more real life females play alliance simply because human/nelf females are much better looking avatars.

In terms of girls being worse at WoW than guys. Somewhat disagree. Our guilds two best healers one was a guy, other a girl. In terms of best at every other position, it was only guys. Then again we only had like 5 girls.

Alliance and Horde are both idiots for different reasons. All things being equal in macro terms, which they are thanks to the terrible item budget progression (I do not mind this at fucking all, FYI), the Horde do seem to be genuinely better at pvp than Alliance. When you see someone in a dumb spec they usually play better, and when they are in the right spec they play well and aren't confined to reclusive pre-mades. I've met plenty of equally adept players, sometimes geared beyond my dreams, just low riding it up with us common folk. I have never seen an alliance support class do pugs, and the only time I'll ever see someone equipped in the 'High Warlord' style is a pure damage class looking to have some solo fun.

Maybe it's the racials, maybe it's the low population or maybe it's just two years of anecdotal evidence, but Alliance seem to be flat-out dumber than Horde. Personally, I genuinely do believe that higher population plus two years of paladins have deadened the functional capacity of Alliance players to not suck completely. The only time I see Horde become equally retarded is in WSG pugs, and AV with giant gear discrepency. In Eye of the Storm the other night 8 horde were able to keep pace with a full team of 15 Alliance side. We lost by 400 points in a 25 minute game, where we were outnumbered 5 minutes in.

I've easily encountered two or three times as many idiots leveling my BElf Paladin than I did leveling my Undead Mage.

I do think that the top Arena teams will be mostly Horde though.

I think this prediction goes out the window when you take into account that Arena teams are non-faction specific. You fight Alliance AND Horde. So the top Arena teams are simply going to be the teams who are the best of the best, regardless of the faction they are associated with.
