+37 Internets | Downtime Saturday night Just a heads up The new server I mentioned a bit ago is ready to be installed. I will be migrating the Uberguilds Network to it starting around 7pm PST tonight and the whole network will be down for several hours. *Edit* - Aparently it will be tomorrow night. Grr. I wish I didn't live 2500 miles away from the colo.

+37 Internets | I'm pretty sure I just signed off in my own blood on a week of hell actually. The new web box has php5.2 instead of php4, and mysql 4.1 instead of 4.0. I did do some migration testing before I shipped it off without any problems(after 8 hours of configuring stuff) but..... ...Yeah. I'm pretty sure this is gonna be fucked up. On the bright side of things, from my testing this new box looks to be able to handle at LEAST 10x the load of the current box, and I've been putting off the php/mysql upgrades for too long.

+37 Internets | PS - Stress test inc sometime in the next week or two, depending on when I feel that I have the new box working well.

| Will we get the option to have larger images thumbnailed automatically when we post them? That would make me very happy. Posting 1920x1200 images would be so wonderful when resized to like 480x300 or something like that. Clickable, to open a larger window for full awesome viewing. I know this has nothing to do with your upgrades. But it would make me so happy that I figured it couldn't hurt to wait. |

+37 Internets | That's something that I could have changed any time... It wasn't really a problem in the past but recently images are getting huge. I've noticed it's annoying too. I've always left it the way it is because I figure people prefer it that way. If you make a poll on this forum and on the screenshots forum and that's what people want I'll change it.

+37 Internets | Not off the top of my head, but I'll look into it.

| You could use two tags, like img and timg. And then hope people have the common sense to thumbnail images they post in a thread that's mostly discussion, leaving the standard img tag for screenshot, PGT, etc. (Ok, yea, I laughed as I typed that too.) PS-HTML is disabled in the Other Games forum, but nowhere else (except retardland). Fixplz~ |

| What's the OS it's running? I have a VPS setup with Debian Sarge running PHP5 and MySQL 4.1 with postfix + courier + greylisting. I swear, it's a freaking sweet setup.

| Oh oh I got two questions that have been bugging me. Fairly recently, I think within the past month or two, the posts have gone from being labeled by a specific time to a generic "2 hours ago." Is this a change I can do on my side, or was this a board-wide change? There was some other minor thing but I can't remember what it was now... |

| I just figured out what the other one was...or rather, I just had it happen again. I can't nail down the specifics, but sometimes when clicking the "Go to newest post" button it instead goes to the very first post. I just clicked on the Naruto thread over in the TV house and this happened. I've read that thread many times, but just now I click on the Latest Post and it simply goes to the first post. Minor little quibble over an otherwise really, really handy feature. I think it has to do with old threads getting bumped. I've never noticed it when I'm normally browsing; I'm pretty sure it only happens when an old thread I had read a lot gets bumped. |
