| Yeah, thats for sure! If Turbine can keep pushing out good, interesting content that doesn't deviate too far from the lore Tolkien established, then I can see myself sticking with this game for a very long time. As I grow older (and I'm not that old) I find myself wanting a MMO that not only allows me a lot of freedom with what to do, but also one that has a good story to it. So that instead of saying "I spent 10 hours in Guk camping Rastor" you can say "I spent 10 hours in Eriador involved in some crazy story and at the end I got to face off against a Ringwraith!" |

| OMG, you prune! Yeah, I've been waiting quite awhile for an MMO to come out that is more story related then anything else. That's why I was so very surprised and delighted in Beta at what Turbine is delivering so far. If they keep this up, I'll be subscribed for a very, very long time.

| I love all the little things you can do.. I ran to the Shire from Bree and started killing wolves/spiders for different titles. I like how even though I got a wolf/spider title already that its different in other places. Maybe get a title for having a certain amount of titles? :P |

| Why oh why do I read these threads? I'm this close to pre-ordering now. I played a little in the beta -- I think the highest I got was level 7 or 8. There was only two things that bothered me. First, combat felt a little unresponsive in that there seemed to almost be a slight delay between using an ability and seeing the animation (it wasn't lag). It just didn't seem to give that instant response that you get in a game like WoW, for example. The other problem I had, which is rather silly, was that I didn't see any way to filter all the various combat text in the window to be different colors -- i.e. my melee color, mobs melee color, my spell damage etc.... it just seemed to be one universal color for the combat spam and that bugged me. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough though. Everything else seemed great and I really like the achievements and titles in the game. Maybe I'll pre-order... |

+3 Internets | Not sure if any turbine devs read this area, but there's a problem with ui / classes that I think could be remedied. Sorry if this has already been covered, I didn't read all 69 pages. I tried all the classes but guardian, and noticed that for most, I ended up staring at the hotbar the entire fight, watching the cooldown meters. This is something I've heard Richard Garriot call "playing the interface", which not only is an immersion killer, it's a mental shunt between your instinct and the flow of combat. Combat should be instinctual. For loremaster and captain however, I watched the action. I think this is because most classes have alot of moves of varying cooldowns that cool off much quicker than the lore/cap. Burglar for instance is very hectic. This is where I think coming up with a unified UI for all classes might be a mistake. The queue system works wonderfully for the long cooldowns on the captain and loremaster. The abilites (at least at 15) are kindof one shot. You don't need to even glance down at the bar. However for the quick fighters with alot of moves, a non queuing system with auditory feedback would be much better (I don't have enough energy!). Such a system would allow you to at best time the moves without glancing down, and at worst, hammer them knowing they work based on audio. Another problem is that with certain race/class combos, specials are difficult to distinguish from auto attack. This I can't really complain about, as I'm overjoyed that they didn't flood the screen with silly particles. Thank you for that whoever ![]() Kharza-kzad |

| I "borrowed" an account last night and played some. I will be pre-ordering this game. I love how the story evolves and how you seem to actually be apart of an epic story unfolding. Then you have characters like Gandalf and Gimil actually in the game doing things. If SWGs had done this instead of making all the movie characters static npcs it would have been 100X better. It was cool to go way back before the story in the Hobbit takesd place nad help Gfandalf destroy the Witch King's army and meet characters like Thorin before they die later on.

+200 Internets | Same for me. As a Champion, I'm doing nothing but watching the hotbar waiting for my skills to refresh. I'd rather be watching more of the action.
