| I played a Dwarf Minstrel for a good while in closed beta, and found it to be a very solid and enjoyable class. In addition to being the most potent healers in the game, Minstrels are also incredible at soloing. If you enjoy having a lot of things to do during combat, you'll like this class. |

| Minstrels sound pretty good*, but what's their downside? Totally needed for groups, yet good solo capabilities...is it gonna be like VG where half the servers end up being healers? *Besides the obvious nerf to their name. Bards > minstrels. Bards may be spoony, but minstrels are flat out gay. Might as well change the name to minthtrelth. |

| Well, minstrels are the only healer in the game - at least the only one worth a damn. So I guess it's fine that they get some perks. Still, they aren't that ridiculous anymore - the last patch toned them down quite a bit (overnerfed some of their skills imo - the devs have a tendency to overnerf, sadly), and they're certainly one of the two worst DPS classes now (not sure if guardian is more/less than minstrel post-patch?). I really wish we got some DoTs and such. It's kind of boring that all of our tier 1 and 2 ballads are the same, except for the buff they give. |

| Couple of clarifications and random trivia. Minstrels' Achilles's heel is their squishiness and the fact that they draw aggro. Yes you can get medium armor at higher levels, but by doing so you sacrifice other interesting traits. The nuker in LOTRO is the hunter -- just forget that it's arrows instead of flames, the concept is the same. If you like playing mage in WoW the hunter should suit you fine. All classes are very well balanced and hybrids of sorts -- they all have some utility skills that help round out their main skills. The Loremaster is NOT a Nuker. Think more WoW Warlock -- pet class with some DoT ranged spells, debuffs, and best at CC. The Guardian is a fun tank in that it has mostly reactive skills, including a reactive heal. The champion heals are HoTs that depend on the mob dying first, which adds an interesting twist.

+1 Internets | The troll in the cave is just about one of the coolest shots of an mmo I've seen yet. It basically looks like a rip from an xbox single player rpg ;p I cannot believe the turn around in public talk that this game has obtained in the past few months. Just three months back I was arguing that a WoW clone was pointless and that the developers should feel bad for being so uncreative, but AV. 00 (After Vanguard) I've learned how to appreciate care, fluff, and interesting lore. I don't even mind that it's basically DDO instancing, but with genuine story elements thrown in, combined with WoW paced combat with DAoC's class design anymore. Fuck, I'm considering pre ordering it with my brothers and running through the game after I had sworn off online games. Really, quite the impressive turn around but it still has to run the gauntlet of the unmitigated bitchfest that will be open beta.

| Registered User | I'm impressed, too. I had heard all sorts of stories from folks "in the know" about it being screwed over by hardcore LOTR fans, but it's actually a fun, good-looking title. Certainly worth the $9.99/mo subscription fee in my book.
