Vanguard Gameplay Suggestions

Yeah there's several VG threads already, but unfortunately half of them are being crapped on by a couple naysayers. I'd like to see a thread where we can get gameplay suggestions. There aren't any official forums and we know Sigil reads FoH, so lets give them some things to think about?

Here goes...

- Repair All option (I'm sure they are working on this)
- Chain reactions not tied to global cooldown OR make it so chains don't become unavailable if you hit them at a second they can't be used (bug or feature?)
- Some color or number scheme to indicate what level a quest is appropriate for
- Sections for quests to separate by location
- Increase the amount of durability on plate and force equal distribution (1 item can break faaaarrr sooner than others like weapon and boots) OR base durability loss off time spent in combat instead also with equal distribution
- Allow "/" and "Enter" keys to be remapped
- Make weapon skill gains a bit faster
- Make strength stat more useful
- Separate the settings option for mouse and keyboard look/turn speed, Allow mouse turn/look to be faster
- Make ESC be able to clear loot windows

- Double clicking a card in the Strategy during parley should use it automatically, eliminating the need to move the mouse around just to click on "Speak".
- Explain clearly in the diplomacy tutorial the effect of Diplomatic skill on a parley (it's what causes the difference in conversation points when a parley start) and on the Strategy (every 100 skill point in diplomacy = +1 card in your strategy).
- Chain reactions for casters are too far on the side of "fluff" right now and should be rethought to have a greater impact on combat.
- When a player tries to share a quest and a group member does not qualify, the reason should be given. "You are too low to accept this quest" or "You need to complete quests XYZ (with the exact quest names) to accept this quest".
- Diplomatic specific containers need to be implemented like they are for Harvesting and Crafting (I believe this is already in the works).
- The Video settings should give the player the option of saving multiple Custom settings. The same for Audio.
- "Cancel Ability" should be mapped to a key that is not Escape by default.
- TargetNextNPCOffensive should exist
- When trying to map a key that is already mapped to another ability, a warning should be given (This key is already mapped to ability222, are you sure you want to remap it yes/no).
- The diplomacy UI should be rethought to eliminate the need to have 3-4 windows open. Preferably something that would contain the parley window, the dialogue window, the strategy window and the diplomacy abilities, factions etc windows at the same time. A completely overlay basically.

- Show monks the stats (dmg/speed/crit) of their bare fist per level. Why should we have to parse wpn by wpn to know if we should even buy a new fist?
- Change it where after you roll the loot window goes away. OR if when you close it, you can still roll on the items that are going to be lotto'd right after (today I closed the window after an item roll to find out I couldn't roll on anything else the mobs we were looting dropped).

- Input history in the chat.
- Complete redo of diplomacy ability interface. 6 cards per page, and I have to mouseover to get any sort useful information?

- Maps for the cities.
- Some Z-axis issues with towers around Ca'ial Brael.
- Bards could use animations/graphics for some instruments.
- Bards could use particle effects for all spells, through lvl 8 only regen seems to have one.
- Reactions with the global cooldown system sometimes give very little time to complete (i.e. after parry for a bard, I pretty much have to spam click it to make sure it activates)
- A paper doll set up similar to WoW's where your gear turns yellow and then red would be nice. (armor durability)
- Make it so if I get stunned while my finishing move is up it doesn't reset it. It is beyond annoying to finally get a crit then have a mob stun me and lose my finishing move.
- Make it so if an ability fails to even work it doesn't reset the timer. My LoHs spell fails to go off 90% of the time and then it goes on cooldown just like ti had worked. That is annoying.
- Increase loot drops for group areas
- More variations of armor display

- More managable ways to cast and maintain buffs, especially in group and raid settings
- Uniform buff timers; Increase everything to 1hour (except for things like marshalling cry of course)
- When clicking a banker npc, the bank window should automatically open up. When guild banks are implemented, the bank window should have a two tabs, one for guild and personal banks. Items should be able to be transferred between the two with a simple right click option.
- Add guild banks/vaults.
- In crafting, when setting up a table, make it easier to quickly select your optional utilities. A drop down menu would be helpful instead of having to scroll through lots of randomly placed utilities.
- Allow an option in crafting tables to "repeat last item" to make batch/set work orders a little less tedious. This option would set up your table exactly as the last item and let you start crafting right away. That or allow templates to be created.
- Change the Civic diplomacy NPC level increments from 25 to 10.
- Increase the diplomacy reward for beating someone with 10 or more skill than you.
- Change the -20% on Warrior Offensive Stance Mitigation to be multiplicative instead of straight value subtraction.

About my point N8. Changed that to "should exist" because right now there does'nt seem to be a way to cycle through only the NPCs agro on you (cycle through the encounter window).

off the top of my head, shit I haven't already mentioned

bug issues-
*Fix pathing with the 'boss' mobs you spawn at the end of the Tomb or Lord Tsang. Once low health they practically jog off the side of the building down the cliff.

*Fix it where if you die during a battle you can still roll on an item

*Fix LOS issues in Tomb or Lord Tsang (actually just go all over that zone, the quest are buggy and the zone is too).

*Fix mob FD stuck. A mob will seriously not leave you until you /exit or /camp a lot. And something else new we had mobs stuck to a wizard they couldn't see for some reason so he camps (nobody else was around) and as soon as he does it charges over to us to attack us when we weren't even in the same area

As a crafter one thing (I know would be way down on the list) that would be awesome is if I could tie a location for vender purchased items to a specific slot in my bags.

So every time I bought coal, adhesive, water, oil, bandages, solvent, ect… It would automatically go to a set location.

A Small thing I know but I spend a ton of time moving junk around in my bags.

See my #7. The problem is that it exists (see the Controls tab in setting; it's called CancelAbility) but it's not mapped to any key by default. That's a problem since casters have to cancel stuff all the time and most don't know they can map it.

Quest levels come to mind.It would be nice to know the relative level of the quest youre about to do so you dont spend 1/2 hour getting to the location and finding out the mobs are too low or too high for you. Or even a blue, red, white, green,gray color level would be sweet.

I agree, the quest system in regards to organization, history, and UI/Message handling could use some more building out. Has there been any official word on the current quest system state? Are they happy with it or is it "on the radar" for more polish and fleshing out?

The system is "working" but I would expect more from the Bradster.

2nd this motion.

Was the Constitution bug ever fixed, or does it return the proper HPs now?

Also, splitting quests between sphere. If we can only have 20 quests, at least let it be 20 Adventuring, 20 Diplo, 20 Crafting, instead of 20 total.

-TargetNextEncounterNPCOffensive should exist.
-Fix the Environmental Shaders bug (If you turn it up too high it wigs out your screen)
-NPC's (Guards) shouldn't be able to take ownership away with 1 swing.
-Paladin auras need you to log out to reactivate them.
-Disciple Bonds will occasionally freak out when trying to cast a second, telling you that you're "already looting something".
-If you agro a mob near an NPC fighting a mob, others may agro you, appear on encounter, but disappear quickly and never remove you from combat. Aside from figuring out which individual mob is in combat with you, it seems the only way to fix it is to log.

(For ease of finding that last one, it happened to me at the wisps/kaon near LN which are fighting guards. Test it there.)

And since I see this pop up every 15 minutes or so, I suggest a "You have equipped your Horse into your inventory" message, along with an automatic hotkey made when you equip your horse for the first time.
