I should state that I love Jihadswarm. I went into an ice belt in Minnie space and the mackinaws were so thick my smarties took 7 of them. I think the bears are heeding your warnings to stay in minnie space which is good for me.

![]() The day of judgement will come BoB. Be sure of that. It just has to be this way. It's unpreventable. Shamus said so. On a more serious note, I kinda see less and less Goons willing to believe this pseudo religious nonsense. I remember from my Goon days that almost every week some 'Goon in the know' with 'Illumintati access' claimed that BoB is right on the verge of failure cascade. It gets old after a while and probably more and more Goon grunts realize this by now. Even then, there were perhaps only 100 Goons in the Swarm that were really military active, and perhaps another 50 - 70 Goons that were semi-carebearish but could be assed to an OP every now and then. The rest of Goonswarm was carebearing in Scalding Pass, Detorid or even the fucking Drone Regions deep in the RA backyard. The legendary RSF blobs came only about when GS could join forces with RA and perhaps some lesser allies. But on it's own it's indeed just a very big pubbie alliance.

+7 Internets | I think your numbers are just off. 100-150 is realistic for day-to-day stuff, but for big strategic ops Goonswarm has traditionally (over the past year I've been there) gotten 250-350 goons. For example, in 66-, or 49-, or R97/OOYZ. |

In R97/OOYZ the turnout was particularly abysmal. If you remember this was the phase of never ending Scavok OPs, where we tried to take the system for several weeks. Tolon was bitching about the low turnout there and threatening that if it doesn't get better he'll just pack and leave. It was just usual Tolon ranting of course but still. Sure you would get a peak here and there, if Goons felt that something was really at stake so the even carebear Goons would come, but for an ongoing siege you need steady numbers over several days, perhaps even weeks. And you said yourself that the typical OP consists of 100-150 which concurs with my numbers quite well.

Anyway, I'm a believer that after moving into NPC Delve these numbers will all double. Already we're getting a ton of goons sitting around at all hours, from what I can see. The other night we had about 175 available in US primetime without any ops even planned, with which we went and broke out of QY6. I don't know if you have an active account on gf.com, but the new op calendar on the forums I think is a really great idea and I bet it gets a ton more people showing up to scheduled stuff.

| Fuck the cynojammers - they can keep them as they are. What the game needs is making space BIG again: no jumpclones, jumpbridges, cynos... gate to gate for everybody for as much jumps as it takes. That'd kill the blob alliances since no one would be able to effectively defend 3+ regions. It'd also mean war campaigns would depend on more elaborated logistics effectively allowing multifront attacks unlike today's pos-centered pvp. I enjoy Goons+family demolition of the bob empire, but they've accomplished it killing poses and that's what's wrong right now - it's all about the pos sieging. | I've been saying for the past 3 years that travel time are too fast in mmo. Especialy in Eve, instant travel make the world small = less immersive = boring. Yay for the "I want everything ! RIGHT NOW" crew. Instance, insta travel, soloing and all the other sins. Ah the days of racing through half a dozen zones with 2 other guilds to kill Klandicar are long gone ![]() Fuck insta travel, especialy in Eve, but in all other mmo as well. |

For EQ travel time would be boats, wiz/dru ports and CoH. Then adding more ports, translocates, PoK stones, etc. The comparison for your complaint would be about jboots/SoW/selos.
