| I'm probably quit for good, but as had been said at least 100 times in the EVE threads: The game is what you make of it. Sometimes you have to try harder than others I guess.....

+3 Internets | These new changes to balance R64's and allow you to make your space better sound fine. Reality is nobody is going to bother fighting big wars for the sake of fighting big wars. Better space and R64's are the only reason big wars are fought anyways. |

I highly disagree with #1 and #2, while #3 depends on playstyle. #1: I find small skirmishes and roaming gangs much more interesting than large fleets or anything relating to POS warfare. Since large fleets and POS warfare are a big part of these epic "bob vs goons" conflics, being in a large scale war doesn't always translate to more fun, but in fact sometimes the opposite. #2: I am looking forward to the new sov/planetary changes and all of the walking-in-station and DUST revamps that are on the table. The changes involved are likely to significantly impact space-holding 0.0 entities. #3: It all depends on what you want from the game. If your sole purpose in MMOs is to get the biggest, baddest armor/ship as fast as possible and let the newbies ooo and ahhhh at your pixels, this game will not reward you instantly. If you like to be creative and use the brains you have instead of grinding linear quests and fighting in the same battleground over and over, this game is DEFINITELY for you. I find it to be by far the best MMO on the market for anyone with an IQ over 50.

| In case you were still thinking of playing Eve let's dissect what he just said: Roaming Gang (n): Spend hours flying around space for a handful of kills (if you are lucky). Usually you will gangbang much smaller fleets or solo pilots completely incapable of defending themselves (usually ratters). Very rarely you will encounter a 'good fight.' That 'good fight' will often have to sustain you for hours or days. If you are in one of the few alliances that aggregates competent players then you will spend your time stomping retards (read: 85% of Eve Online). "Eve online is 'not a grindfest like other games':" It is. The PVE side of the game is a redundant grindfest (this includes ratting, mission running, production, selling goods and mining/moon mining). The PVP side makes PVP feel like a grindfest. Eve doesn't require anymore intelligence than any other PVP game. This is the greatest myth you will find. Every single PVP game has players with a higher game IQ than others. They take more time than others to read the Wiki for information and they test their abilities to achieve some optimal level of success. In Eve, most players are actually horrendously bad. In a large scale battle, things usually come down to numbers; one person calling a correct warpin (warpout); having enough people to carry the bad players, and some standardization of fits and fleet composition which is not left in the hands of the players individually. In small scale combat, you generally have terrible players finding smaller and weaker targets to kill. Beyond that you have a collective of good players that aggregate in specific alliances and the battles become so lopsided it's not even worth mentioning the results of battle. PL versus Atlas in small or large scale battle? LOOK AT THE GAMER IQ! SO MUCH IQ! The fact is that the game is slow. Very slow. Saying Eve is a "high IQ game," or saying it is "not like the linear grindfests of WoW etc." are really euphemisms for the game being terribly and horrendously slow and boring 95% of the time. |

| None of my friends who have played EVE for more than a year have stopped playing. Either they get bored in their first month or they continuously play. Some people like you just tend to emoragequit and then spend your time bashing the game, whether it is this forum, scrapheap challenge, etc. If you really don't like EVE, find a game that suits your playstyle. I haven't found a single MMO that is more fun or more rewarding.

| You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to ShamusChad again. bah. Oh that's right, you were the dipshit that fucking spewed BoB hatred all over this thread and constantly got in the way of actual discussion. Go the fuck away, you've already shown the "value" of your opinions. Now that you can't spew hatred of BoB, I guess CCP is next for forcing you to spend ungodly hours playing Eve against your will? Go drown yourself or something. |

+3 Internets | Shamus is totally in the bitter vet club. Nobody should play a game indefinitely. At some point the game is no longer fun and you move on. I still like griefing and Eve is still a great game for that. |
