TBH, it's pretty obvious that empire freighter-ganking was an oversight on CCP's part after fixing freighters not dropping loot. Secure empire regions really are supposed to be safe from that sort of activity unless the corps/alliances involved are at war.

If they (secure empire regions) weren't supposed to be such, there wouldn't be the gigantic history of the development team making empire a safer place for carebears, from old developments like the strengthening of CONCORD based on m0o's actions to newer developments like the war dec changes based on the multitude of Privateer war decs.

A "strategic" op in Goonswarm generally doesn't mean it's super special or anything, it just means that there is some sort of actual objective we are trying to accomplish. That's in contrast to the cockfagging ops running all day where we just fly around and shoot random people, or comedy ops where we all put guns on industrials, or whatever. We have "strategic" ops almost nightly for one purpose or another, so tell your spies not to expect twenty thousand people and a blob of dreads. Then again, there might be twenty thousand people and a blob of dreads - they don't exactly tell us in advance, so people like me can't leak it

That thread is basically Goonswarm's official alliance statement on Titans, and it seems pretty well-composed and a solid summary, so I'm not sure how you're getting that out of it.

So it's the official stance of a non-titan owning alliance. I'm not saying titans are fine, but a little less 'whaaaaa' probably would make for a better debate.

How do you say "titans are overpowered for reasons A B and C" without making it sound like a whine? I don't really know what you're complaining about, besides that Bane Glorious and Goonswarm have a huge ulterior motive to get titans nerfed, which is true of course; if it took a 1,000 page forum manifesto to make a nerf happen, we would have it written up in a week. Hell, we're paying as we speak for our own titan, not because we really want to have a guy flying a titan, but because we hope that if we fuck people over with it and exploit shit with it enough it will get nerfed.

I don't see how that changes any facts of the matter, though. Either they deserve a nerf or they don't.

I think the biggest problems with Titans is that the pilots using them are too good at the remote DD and their targets never even get to see it. It would be a different story if the titans showed up right on top of them, so they got to crap their pants and stroke their peen against the monitor before dying.
