How Ebonlore cheated their way to level 20 in VG...

I present exhibit 1:

Interesting stats from the leaderboards - Silky Venom

Their members took advantage of a bug that let them stand in front of an NPC that mistakenly wouldnt take the quest item from their inventory when completing a quest. Hence, two people complete the quest, and the third re-shares it. Rinse. Repeat.

There are level 10s that have hit for 98,000 damage... I have a feeling a lot of the stats are screwed up, that wasn't the only one

Funniest thing from my early EQ career was the GM announcement that Ebonlore was disbanded on Erolisi Marr. Douches then, douches now.

Countless other guilds did the same thing, aswell as the egg exploit in hathor zhi, and duping bugs all across every single server. I'm almost positive its not the only bug in the game. There are/where many mobs in the game that would sit there and respawn automatically.

The exploit you speak of is old news, it's been in the game since beta 1 in over 40% of the zones in the game. I do agree that the major bugs in the game such as duping, and other economy shattering bugs are pretty lame, but a mob respawning instantly, being one that doesn't even drop loot, is yawnable. Sure get 2-3 levels off a instant spawn mob, thats not going to bring you to 50.

I do agree, exploiting those quest bugs are bullshit, I agree with you 100%. My main "yawn" gripe is the instant respawning mobs.

Ha, look at the leaderboard for wealth. Every single person is level 1, and most of them are the same name with the first letter changed. Someone found a nice dupe to have more than one character at the top of the wealth leader boards for all servers.

duping was pretty damn easy even near the end of beta. I duped my entire inventory twice, accidentally. Reported it and tried to explain how it happened as best I could, guess they never fixed it. Just another reason it's probably a good thing I'm waiting till they open a new FFA server with item loot. There are going to be plenty of people who get away with this and it will undoubtedly mess with the economy.
