| Reading EVE posts always leads me to the same conclusion, "EVE is definitely the only third generation MMO out there." It is completely insane how complicated and in depth EVE is. What I wouldn't do to be 14 again so I could get past the learning curve. |

| IMO the number 1 reason to fire him is not because what he did was unethical. It's because the guy is obviously a complete moron, and who wants someone that's repeatedly proven themselves to be an idiot working for them? CCP, apparently. Well, that's not fair, because the vast majority of game studios have really questionable people working for them. Still, I did think CCP was better. Apparently they're not.

the biggest problem people have is not that a dev was caught cheating which in itself is bad, is that ccp knew about it for 6 months and did nothing, and their asshole of a community manager tried to deny it all, he lied to the players and now they're clearly lying again and anyone with a IQ over 80 realizes that, there is no fucking way the dev only spawned those bpo which happen to some of the worse... so excuse me for being mad ![]()

Hit and run gangs involve constant quick decision making and alot of interactive changes. Gate camping...sure gets pretty boring, but even then when a good gang comes to knock you off, things can get really interesting. I've gotten more players hooked on Eve just taking them out to N-Rael for a night. Whatever floats your boat but alot of people get an actual adrenaline rush from that "boring" Eve combat

Last active PvP game I played was guildwars as healer. Thats fastpaced action and playerskill is more micro than macro based. Dont get me wrong, I love eve... but combat itself is F1-F8 + watch. Youre not going to own 5 people because of cool movement or anything you do at combat. You own 5 people because your fitting is better or you die because its not capable of handling 5 people.

I get what your saying (GuildWars is really intensive) , but if you really are just targeting, turning on modules and orbiting you're playing Eve differently than I am. What you describe sounds like mission running. Once heading to empire to pick up some modules in my Arazu, I warped into a warp bubble with 2 hostiles on the gate (one Typhoon, the other a Megathron), there was 3 of my sister alliance in HACS engaging them and one of them just went pop. Arazu's for those that don't know have massive Sensor Dampening bonuses, can fit a cov ops cloak and in general can make life a pita for any hostile, but its made of paper. In the next 45 seconds I got into appropriate range, uncloaked, jammed the mega pilot to oblivion, had to turn on my mwd as the Typhoon pilot lauched a volley of cruises at my ass (which saved me, the explosion velocity didnt keep up with my speed), changed jamming to the typhoon pilot just long enough for him to lose lock, helped kill and pod the mega pilot then turned target again back to typhoon and finished him off. While I'll grant you its no guildwars for action there..it certainly wasnt my fittings that helped turn that conflict, if i'd made a couple of bad decisions in the few seconds I had to do each of those things the outcome would have been one 300 mil isk loss on my part and certainly at least one more friendly would have popped. It's a cute idea that eve is all about fittings and skill points, but in reality there is a big swath of result differential between pilots. One of my alliances's best pvp'ers only started the game march last year. Again to each his own, just my 2 cents. Last edited by chmodux; 02-10-2007 at 02:59 PM..

| My largest concern is this:if the BPO creation was in fact discovered nearly half a year ago as has been stated by CCP,then WHY were said BPO's not removed and reseeded into the lottery but instead allowed to not only remain ingame but to remain in the hands of the same alliance? It gives a sense of "Well,we caught you cheating but it's ok because the playerbase doesn't know about it". |
