You all knew it was coming, so don't act surprised.
Glad to see your still going at it Neric, no day is complete without a stab at
Vanguard from you.

Seriously, we know what you think about the game, we heard it a billion times
now, your a broken record. Cant you find something better to do then whine
bout a game for a year?

I really hope your not playing WoW if you feel that nerfing classes is a bait/
switch policy because you would be in intensive care right now due to
multiple strokes.

Back to topic, still not home from work so still intrested to hear from any
bloodmages out there on if we got any changes to our class?

This thread has a real Everquest smell to it. And I like it! Its something that was missing (for me) in WoW.

I may have to try retail Vanguard if it keeps giving me this EQ vibe

The game and the company policies on product management are two different things. It's a recurring theme with these MMOs that you get attracted by something during the Beta or the free month and shortly after they patch it out. Stuff like that is simply lame, regardless if it happens with SoE or Blizzard. Over the years it happend so often (basically with every release/expansion) that you cannot just put it all on a sad coincidence. You simply have to assume this happens intentionally to increase their sales. If that's true, it shows a lack of respect for their customers and that's never a good foundation for a long lasting relationship.

"If it happens once it's ignorance, if it happens twice it's neglect, if it happens three times it's policy."

Can we get some better moderation and try to actually ban posters who try to act like retards to build an e-game? Freedom of speach is great and all, and calling developers out when they just talk about empty fluff is fine, but Hiram Key/Neric have never ever contributed anything constructive to these boards.

I'm forgiving enough to call it sad coincidence forever, but he does have a point. There's no malicious intent but we do deal with this on a consistent basis =/

If there's one thing I don't understand, it's huge sweeping changes after release. They're completely unnecessary. Tweak as you must, but using the number 50% for anything, increase or decrease, will be too much every time. Sadly, it seems like Sigil's favorite number at this point. If you absolutely need to do a sweeping change, at least people will accept it a little easier in two spread out chunks. Odds are you will have thought out the situation at that point (i.e. entirely necessary), and not a knee-jerk reaction, which is what some recent changes have felt like. (C'mon, 50% nerf to caster PvP damage? Did you even test that?)

Two hour downtime to get some dinner while they fix a few bugs sounds good to me. And last I checked the world is round, primetime for you is not primetime for everyone. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Why does someone have to clank down on your 3 liners for you to post
something worth reading?

Nerfing in all forms are bad since it indicates you didnt test your shit enough
or that your itemization crew dont know what impact their work have on the
game as a whole and that you need someone looking over their shoulder
to correct issues before you have to nerf stuff in the live game.

I agree, all MMORPGs out there at the moment suffer from this and its no
coincidence. Making some classes feel like OMGPWNED! for beta just to kick
them in the groin once the first box sales are done is simply poor buisness
practice. Unfortunatly it seems to be accepted by both producers and
consumers. Yes, Im guilty of it, I dont even raise an eyebrow over it. I rather
have this now in Vanguard so that I can sorta change my class now in the
begining, rather then having to reroll a top level character (like WoW) in 6
months, then 6 months after that and so on (not to mention redo rep grinds,
gear up all over again...).

PS: WoW is used as an example of a game that suffers from several radical
changes in how a class/item works, it is not a bad game, I still play it, I dont
hate it. Its just how that game works and its a good example of how to NOT
handle classes and changes. Im not using this to bash WoW or to claim
Vanguard is a better game. Skip the usual 3 pages of WoW vs Fanguard.

Well since the main release market was the USA I doubt we should be over worried about if it was Prime Time in China...

After this patch I really don't feel like grinding solo, the group I was in just broke for the night and we couldn't get replacements due to the time...so the plans I had to grind all day are now out the window.

It sure isn't since I'm in Europe right now. I was about to go to sleep when the message went down and I still think its an I N C R E D I B L E! decision.

Yeah i was gonna grind on out to 15 and grind out enough cash to buy my plot but it is such a damn chore now to even kill anything worthwhile much less lvl that I have 0 desire to even log in atm. So been sitting here for the last couple hours messing with Multiverse and seeing if I can get a decent 3-d modeler program up and running. At least in my own world I can't fuck myself over... well I can but why would I do that? I'll leave that to other MMO companies/developers.

Anyone else play a necro? The pet heal nerf really sucks. Worst part is, I can still easily solo even level 5 dots using fear kiting but I can't even keep my pet alive without running out of mana on lower level 3dots.
