| Should guilds on Russsian servers get a free transfer? Summary for those with ADD: Russians have made our server an unofficial Russian speaking server and we cant communicate with (hardly) anyone outside our guild. Has anyone managed a free Migrate under these circumstances? Full story: This post is more of a query to see if anyone has been in a similar situation to myself and if they ever managed to get a resolution to the problem. Our guild was originally on Skullcrusher, which had a great community but eventually had huge ques and crushing lag. We were given the option of a free migrate and took it. The new server was great, zero ques, and no lag. Unfortunatly Russians used the news server as an unofficial Russian server and now about 80%+ or more of the people we come across speak Russian only. A lot of the guys are cool, and its possible to run instances etc, but not understanding what the strategy is for a certain encounter or trying to trade with a window full of crylic characters is a bit fustrating. Even more so now that the 5 man dungeons can be pretty tricky, you can't get away with not being able to communicate strategy. It was bearable till recently, when the last remaning big english speaking guild forked up the $$ to ship out. Now not only are we further in the english speaking minority but its getting more and more difficult to find new members. Anyone had a similar experience? Should Blizzard offer us a free migrate? A paid migration isnt an option for us, as several members have a bunch of alts and not everyone can afford the cost. |

| Well, what can i say - you should have better researched where are you going (Stonemaul-EU, right?) I just don't see any grounds for Blizzard to offer you free transfer. It's not Blizzard fault that russians have chosen that server, or that they don't speak English. You might have a tiny chance if you can proof that your guild is being abused and treated disrespectfully. Other than that - tough luck.

| Yeah, thats what we figure. We did plently of research and knew the risks. And personally I'd rather have a lot of russian speakers than 50 minutes ques and raid destroying lag. That doesnt mean we should have to settle for it tho. Didnt imagine there would be a president for getting a transfer but worth checking. |

My rough estimation (based on statistics on largest russian WoW forum) is that there is about 50k russian-speaking persons playing WoW. Drop in a bucket, compared to other potential markets.

| If you immerse yourself in a language, it takes about 2 months to learn it in my experience. You can get common lingo down much faster. Im talking passive immersion here (4-6 hrs/day without your native language). I know you can learn languages faster with total immersion. Working a job with some guys who spoke only spanish, it took about a week to learn the basic working commands and very basic conversational, at a month i was fluent with everything to do with work, and at 2 months I was mostly fluent with spanish as a whole and completely fluent with anything remotely related to work. I consider myself fluent, because even if i do come by a word i dont really know, i can usually figure it out on the fly just from the sentence. |

If you really want to stay in the server you can dedicate yourself to learn Russian, just don't be afraid to ask on spelling of certain words and you'll learn pretty quick. PS. Manticore's signature makes me laught everytime, lol.

Off topic but your english is pretty damn good! Few minor typos/spelling errors but a lot better than my spanish for sure.
