Like a broken record. I know you have lost all sense of logic and reason Tad10, but you do realize that it's possible for people to comment on something in a general sense, without having to actually be knee deep into it to understand whats going on.

Stop trying to drag everyone else in the world onto your sinking ship, thanks.

It'll be interesting to see where it ends up in the weeks after that.
It was #2 in the UK PC charts for the same week and #38 overall. This last week it wasn't in the top 10.

Because PC sales, outside of the top two or three, are shitty volume.

What kind of positive word of mouth? You can't say a good thing about the game without following up with "...once they iron out the bugs" or "...blah blah potential".

A few years ago when there was but a small handful of players in the MMORPG field that might have worked, but now there are so many other options that lots of business is going to be lost to people who will gladly look elsewhere.

Where are all these other options?

Wow. I don't like it, it bores me

EQ1? Totally played out for me

AO? totally played out for me been tehre done that.

Eve? I did not like it at all. Quit after 1 hour.

EQ2? It is unfun to me. i am sick of spamming 30 skills and watching everyone with their pocket mentor not want to group.

DAOC? dead in the water.

So where all these options you speak of? For me basically it is VG or watch TV.

Vanguard full of bugs is, in my opinion, still more fun than WoW. That's why.

You listed a pile of shit, most of that are not viable options. Honestly it is VG, EQ2, WoW or quit for the msot part. And WoW and EQ2 are out for me.

Heh any list with RFO, SilkRoad and SWG on it automatically becomes pointless.

EDIT:
Or any codemaster korean port. Ugh.

positive word of mouth as in "its fun" instead of "its full of bugs but still fun". sigil seems to be good at fixing the bugs so the really annoying shit should be gone some time in march.

I think this "positive word of mouth" is somewhat delusional. It's getting positive responses from people who like the idea of a tough and unforgiving game world and don't mind putting up with the bugs. I don't believe that's a big market and so far (which admittedly is only two weeks of data) the sales charts would prove that opinion right. It certainly isn't getting many favours in the couple of reviews I've seen.

That isn't to say there won't be enough players to keep Vanguard going for years. The game isn't aimed at the WoW playerbase after all, it only needs enough subscribers to keep paying for its servers. But I do get the feeling that most of the people who like the idea of the game have already bought it, and one of the things they like about the game is that it doesn't cater to the majority.

I hope you're wrong about that, the game could use a few thousand more folks to flesh it out.

It would be interesting to see what the box and DL sells were, but I am hoping that there are a lot of folks in the wait and see mode still.

at level 16 armor smith and 20th on my server for items in use by other players, I am still below 40K place on work orders, so there must a pretty good number of folks who are playing this game.

We could use more though, have hammer will smith...
