Well I bought the Direct to drive copy. I have a shitty computer. I play it on second to lowest setting. I am currently playing a Goblin Bloodmage. I also called out of work sick the first day I got it. I haven't done that since EQ1. The game rocks and I am addicted. Actualy it has be worried because it reminds me of the awesome that was eq1 back in the day.

Just one example of why I am hooked. I haven't had a MMO make me jump...like ever. I was spose to gather mussels from a beach. I gathered about five or so. I stopped to admire the detail of the shell as I was gathering it. I was all zoomed in a close to the screen...BOOOM a fucking monster mussel poped out with a sound like a evil demon baby scream..ugly one eyed spider type thing. I sooned laughed and said bravo sigil.

I only mention this because I was in beta and fucking hated it. EVERYTHING was a chore to do. Now it is smooth and enjoyable.

The good news is that you're still alive. The bad news is that that's the good news. Also, you have no legs.

No, really, could we please not talk about VG sales numbers until at least some official or unofficial facts start showing up from retailers or companies? How long was it that we have to wait for the market to get the numbers of copies sold, whether Sigil wants them to or not?

Awesome! This is the stuff that I like to hear. I know it isn't perfect, but I am glad we can get people excited.

Like officially released numbers would make any difference to the type of retarded debate that would happen between the two sides of the debate.

Better yet, let's not talk about sales numbers period. Either the game is a success or it isn't. There is no magic number that determines it. If the servers are dead and closing, then I think it is apparent what the deal is. If they are solid and/or opening new servers, I think the game is doing ok. Other than that, I have a preemptive headache from the forthcoming active-subscription debates.

It a mix of EQ1 and WoW. Dieing you drop a corpse(tombstone) and anything that isn't bound to you stays there. You lose XP but get most if not all of it back when you loot the stone. Binding things to you cost what 30c for ten orbs. All in all I like the feeling of danger.

It just enough to make me want to be careful and explore the unknown. In EQ exploring the unknown solo usualy meant your ass so I was scared to run through the middle of a unknown zone etc.

I didnt know that summoning your corpse through an altar gave you no exp back. I was like what the fuck, how come my exp is sucking so bad. I wish i had a damn game manual. I figured it would be like WoW when you use the rez angel, just get your corpse back and have rez effects. I was mistaken.

Those VGPlayer numbers aren't a bad starting point at all, no reason they should be ignored.

The game is just like eq, it also has some similar bugs and running across the world just to get into an xp group.

I'm already burnt out and haven't logged in for atleast 2-3 days. Maybe I just have more RL responsibilities, but after a hard days work I just don't feel like playing. I think I'm getting old =(

Aren't you on the PvP server? That's why i don't roll on PvP servers and wich VG had something like WoW Battlegrounds -- too much extra work these days to watch you back all the time -- makes everythiing longer than it has to be.. But a little pvp now and then is enjoyable.

Its not as harsh as original eq. its a mix between EQ and WoW. I am not in a rush to get to level 50. I think thats what most people have on their mind. I want level 50 so i can start raiding already. This game is not like that. Not yet anyways. I play a few hours a day i am level 14. I an very much enjoying the game, even with the little annoying bugs it has.

I also know what you mean about getting old, i just hit the magic 30. lol In all fairness i will be a gamer til i die.

VG Players shows 220k characters at about 70k at level 1. I think its' probably like 100k subs right now which isn't a bad start for a game with no franchise behind it.
