Now you can assume whatever you want about number of chars per account. I would guess between 1-2 chars per account on release day, probably closer to 1. Where's the notes now? edit: Search Results For Adventure Level: 2 - 50 Page 1 of 2820 - 70479 Results Search Results For Adventure Level: 3 - 50 Page 1 of 2647 - 66171 Results Search Results For Adventure Level: 5 - 50 Page 1 of 2185 - 54601 Results roughly 50k played to lv 5 between preorder and yesterday-ish Last edited by blahblahblah; 01-31-2007 at 10:06 AM..

2) I'm 61 now 3) Playing a lot = shill? 4) I wasn't accusing him at the time of being a shill or a fanboy. He made a comment about not understanding why one would think that about him, and I pointed out one example. 5) I'd make a shitty shill. I've slammed on WoW for many things and, in this very thread, showed a real interest in something in Vanguard, even mentioning that I might pick it up at some point despite deciding I'd never touch it. I dont know how accurate this is. As of this moment, vgplayers shows my character as level 17. I'm level 20 right now. I was last level 17 Monday night I believe when they brought down servers to prep for release Tuesday. I dinged 18 the following morning maybe an hour after servers came up.

| Firstly, Box sales mean a hell of a lot in terms of breaking-even on development costs. Its been that way since single player games were developed and its still that way. Sigil didnt put a Blizzard amount of money into this project based off the results. If they can sell 10,000 boxes ($49 x10,000 = $490,000) then they are well on their way to breaking even i would assume. The reason why your not seeing them in stores is because it cost a lot of money to produce those pretty boxes with the instruction manual, etc. If they can get you to buy the game for $49 and not even make a box to give you, they make more money. The subscription services are gravy. If 250k people just buy the box and not subscribe, I bet they would at least break even on development costs. If you know what the actual development costs were then please feel free to correct me...but please...do so with factual VG development cost numbers, not some specualtive shit. Secondly, Servers with 'low', 'medium', and 'high' mean jackshit to me because again, its speculation as to what those words represent. Medium could mean a whole bunch of things that range from. 1) Absolute numbers (i.e. medium = 2,500 players online) 2) Relative numbers based on total characters made on that server (i.e. total number = 5000 thus medium = 3000, OR total number = 100, then medium = 50-60. 3) Anything in between Absolute and Relative. My opinion is that the words that respresent server load numbers are based on a moving target number and not absolute numbers. Feel free to correct me, but do so with factual info or again its speculation. |

I suppose you could argue somehow that the numbers are going down between that page's update time and current reality, but anyone with half a clue should assume that a newly released game will grow in subs at least initially. I would guess it's around 70K subs as of release day, probably mostly preorders who got the head start.

| From what Brad has said VG is the second most expensive MMO ever developed with WOW being the first. I am sure someone can yank some numbers out, but essentially the dev costs are/were in the same ballpark. |

+107 Internets | I recall someone(Kendrick maybe?) saying that while VG was the second highest, it was in second place by a rather large margin. This was posted recently(as in the last week), but I don't recall who exactly posted it. |

You don't have to believe me.. but im about 90 percent sure those numbers are very close. "unless they changed it from beta to release" Back in beta they showed the exact amount of people online. "per server" which also showed High, medium and low "My numbers are close not correct" as in to low, medium and high "really you can check it for yourself.. if a server that was high at one time.. drops to medium at another time.. it's online based" Last edited by Nattac; 01-31-2007 at 01:17 PM..
