I guess I just can't say no to free shit. I knew when they asked if I wanted the posters I'd never put them up, but instantly I heard myself say sure.

Many people have waited almost one and a half years for this expantion, and although blizzard has supplied it's community with handouts much like the chips i get at a mexican restraunt, i feel like in the end i'll just end up in a similar position with food thats not as great as i hoped for. In addition, i feel like very little is left for me to imagine to occure in these next 10 levels. I hate to say the words "when i played everquest," but back then, when an expantion came out, i was not thinking about the next one [expantion]. I was impressed with an ever changing world that often both surprised me and kept me attentive. Saddly, even though i have a pretty decent amount of content ahead of me, i just don't feel like it's unique nor developed (which is pretty arrogant of me to say, but honest), and i'm realy dissapointed that the only thing on my mind is how i hope the game will be improved upon eventually. Good luck to you Dreagan, i hope i can find a way to milk all the fun also. P.S. Fuck that loot link mod, i'm always this close >--< to turrning off my general chat, my auction chat, my guild chat etc...

+1 Internets | For the average person like myself (plays 2-3 hours a day) this content will last a while. I've already played 4 hours in Hellfire and I'm just barely halfway to 61. I also have no idea where you are coming from in regards to no unique or developed content. Just doing bombing runs right off the bat and seeing the sky as you fly back is amazing. If the rest of the zone's are as well thought out and put toghether as Hellfire then I can't see how anybody would think that as Hellfire is probably the best zone in WoW I've ever been in. |

+5 Internets | Prime time on my (fairly busy) server went by without huge problems. Of course, Hellfire peninsula got quite laggy and wasn't a pleasant place to be because of the massive crowds all running the same quests. However, we ran some of the starting instances instead and they were lagfree and fun. Got some nice drops too (most blues equal or superior to T1/T2). Drop of the day had to be this though: Thottbot World of Warcraft: The Stoppable Force

I have spent some time watching my roomate play the beta, and my friend has been playing all night. I've lookup up quests, tradeskills and loot (i guess you could say i dug my own hole in this regaurd, but that's not the point), and although you may not agree, and i would encourage you to think according to your playstyle (not mine), i feel like i just was sold the same game i bought originally. Sometime, i even see less: when i see the items linked, they look like similar items i've had in the past, just with some larger numbers (actually, they are dumbed down versions, suited to impress people that love min/max). Sure i can do new things, and the 5 man content is going to entertain me, but i don't think the game was expanded upon in a way that I would have hoped for. It's not going to immerse me anymore then i have been, and i would realy enjoy playing WoW for it's RPG element, rather than it's MMO factor. I'm not trying to be a "hater," or give this impression that i want everquest again. I am of the oppinion that WoW has done a great disservice to many developers by showing the proffit that occures from a "dumbed-down" presentation, and i would like to see this powerhouse game/company diversify rather than simplify, leading the way into a competitive gaming (MMORPG) community. (what i realy want is some fucking mounted combat)

+1 Internets | BC is better than vanilla WoW in every fucking way possible. Saying this is a travesty of the industry because Blizzard actually understands their mechanics(or sorry, dumbs them down) and and so doesn't make a ton of completely useless items no one will ever want is simply hilarious. Seeing the "When I was a kid" philosophy go into effect with WoW already is kind of annoying. Last edited by Kasonic; 01-16-2007 at 03:31 PM.. |

Kunark introduced the raiding game and clicky effects on items. Vellious had the whole faction thing + armor quests + expansion wide progression with keyed zones. Luclin .. Luclin was shit. PoP had flags, PoK, Instancing. WoW BC is probably good, very polished and fun, but it does not introduce content that greatly differs from what you have been doing during the last 2 years. Flying Mounts are the exception but they're just a way of getting faster from point A to point B and don't have an impact on the gameplay. And I agree that WoW's itemization is an uninspired Diablo / Vanilla EQ ripoff and miss the days when items had cool clickys / procs that set you appart from the people from your class who didn't have them. Yes it made some items hard to replace before the end of the next expansion, but it's not like it's any different with set bonuses. And before you WoW enthousiasts rip into me, I'm aware of the existence of Thunderfury. I just wish there were more items as unique as it is. Last edited by Kildace; 01-16-2007 at 03:39 PM..

| That would be like saying, "Dude, why does the expansion on your house match the original structure?? Why didn't you just build it when you built the house??" While it may match the original it definately adds to the game. Some of the encounters in the 5 mans are some of the best in the game, and the hardest. Faction choices were introduced ala Luclin, albiet just 2. There is progression to actually reach some of the end game zones (flagging). And its fun. Closing the gear gap is also a wonderful thing. It never got as silly as EQ did but in a PvP game it has to be dealt with. |
