I got to Walmart 1hr30min earlier, was like #28 in line, got my CE. They got in 42. There was probably close to 100 people by the time it came 12.

It might be a bit pre-mature, but I feel confident in saying this launch was a success, very smooth, and just about as perfect as it can be. It remains to be seen how performance will be across all servers come peak time tonight, so I won't give this a full on A+, but it's definately an excellent experience so far.

PS: Brad, you are fucking DOOMED, do you here me ? DOOMED !

I'm with you on that. The whole installation process from authentication to patching went flawless. There was no lag at all and I only got a few disconnects and I'm thinking it was the wireless network I was connected to. But overall so far I'm impressed.

Yeah, who would have thought that a well made, well polished product launched smoothly and without issue would be so seemingly easy to do. It's about time we got this type of service.

The Blizzard dynasty continues unchallenged.

I must agree, flawless launch so far.

The irony is that I was first in line at GameStop, got back and had the game installed by 12:20 EST and then my internet went down for 2 hours. Two hours of trying to reconnect while my cable company did whatever the fuck it does around midnight.

Not gonna trash about the 'good' launch but I would at least wait a few days before declaring it a success. As of now, the bulk of the people playing are the midnite release batch. Hell, it's still very early morning now on the east coast so most people hasn't even gotten a chance to buy the game yet.

Wait til tonite when people are installing and trying to log in after work. =)

I do agree with what is said tho. It is quite nice if it's is a successful and smooth launch. It would do the industry good to have companies that can do this without massive headaches. I truely am hoping they are successful tho.

Amazingly flawless for me. Got my key 40 minutes past midnight, upgraded my account, logged and went into Outland with no prob. However i've cheated a bit and got TBC install files a day prior, installed and patched, thus my client was ready from get go.
Now its more than 12 hours after launch, and no signs of trouble. Simply amazing compared to regular patch days.

Yep, thats why I am holding back my coveted A+ award until we get through tonight. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Glad to hear that Bliz came through, but come on now. It's an expansion. 2 years in the making.

"I hope that when my guild all hits 70 we can finally down ragnaros."

The conversations alone were worth lining up.

Only issue I had was with the 2.8mb patch that took almost an hour to download. It looked like their servers got hammered around 12:30 and just slowed down. Other than that the launch is very smooth.

Heh that could have been my friend from work, he took the week off to play lol. Although he's only late 20's I think. Could also be the guy at the hardware store by my house, but he looked older than 30's. I caught him checking out TBC on the internets a few months back. Amazing how this game has such broad appeal.

Oh, just FYI for the people who were/are having trouble with the 2.0.5 patch, I figured out a way to get it real quick even with all the traffic. Basically, it will download about half a meg on the first tick, then it won't connect to the tracker again for 15 minutes or so, so what I did was after the first tick of the download, close the downloader and start wow again. The first tick is already done, so the new first tick fills in another half a meg. Do it 5 times, and the whole patch is downloaded. Takes about 3-5 minutes total. A HELL of a lot better than the hour it took when I tried to DL it on my other computer.

Hearing the conversations of the people in the Walmart line was super cringe inducing.

One guy was intent on bragging about his leveling pace, his gear, etc and its just soul-sucking to have to hear someone talking to strangers like that IRL, just torturous.
