Game Pad for WoW/EQ2

Anyone use a controller to play these games? I imagine its possible. Just out of curiousity, might give me alittle bit more mobility and versatility on my laptop if I could program things onto a controller instead of being forced to use keyboard /mouse.

PvE maybe, but no way you could pvp with a controller.

Very much doable as far as PvE, but not so much for PvP because you have to use a lot more abilities. The fewer number of buttons to press, the better off you are. I've done WoW with a controller, but it was in PvE solo with my hunter. Just nice to kick back (especially if you can get the "hardware" macros working if ya know what I mean) instead of leaning over a keyboard giving yourself carpel.

would an Nostromo N52 count as a gamepad, or a secondary psuedo keyboard?

The later in my opinion.

I'm basically looking for something I could use while doing stationary bike cardio. I ordered a bike, and the best thing I could come up with is awkwardly putting keyboard / mouse near me somehow and monitor in front i don't know.

Then thought perhaps there was another controller of sorts that could make my life much easier. I'm sure not everyone plays keyboard/mouse style.

My goal is strictly pve.

I hate to be a troll but why on earth would you want to play video games while exercising.

It's a great time to clear the mind while exercising (in my case jogging) and i cannot see any reason why someone would want to pollute that primal think mode that comes out when your lungs are at full function and your heart is pumping and you're running around like a tiger chasing an antelope.

Because some people, when they exercise, don't feel like the tiger...but the antelope (in a helpless persuit).

To be honest, it might really suck for you depending on how you play. When you think about how you do movement and camera operations in the game, the trouble in translating that to a controller comes up (it's really the panning of the camera from the mouse that you end up missing). You really have to think about how much stuff you need to use. I had something like 12 buttons (besides the two sticks and Dpad) on my 3rd party PS2 controller and it still was hard deciding what to assign. You'll pretty much end up using combos of buttons to achieve enough mapping. And as mentioned, the camera/movement will never be as good as using a mouse+keyboard. Also, depending on what software you use, you might have to hide it from the Warden.

I don't have the dexterity for that. I play PS2 on the bike, but I can't imagine typing. That's a really cool setup he has though.

?

If that happens when "jogging" I'd suggest visiting a cardiologist.

To be fair, you did phrase that quite, quite retardedly. I would in fact, nominate it as perhaps the most retarded post so far today. If you trip balls while jogging you may want to do more then just see your cardiologist when you start thinking you're a "tiger chasing antelope."

Best analogy ever too. Should make an award for that as well. Two winners with one post. Grats.

The Clear October Sky - WoW-360

I'm not sure whether it's against the EULA, or if he's stopped supporting it by now. Some people clearly have too much time on their hands.
